We want to honor and acknowledge the admirable work of and their contributions to the community. Feeling Full LA is a nonprofit that was started by a group of high school aged students in 2021 after they joined the food service industry and realized the drastic amount of food waste produced by these businesses. They began partnering with local restaurants, bakeries, cafes, etc. to collect food waste at the end of the business day and transport it to those in need. They are actively looking to grow their program and partner with new businesses and nonprofits with the goal of reducing food insecurity. Please contact them on IG to begin a partnership!

It is beyond refreshing and admirable to see these young people’s contributions and dedication to such vital humanitarian issues. The future is bright.

Our future generation of chefs got to cook up some scrumptious meals while at the Proper Hotel. Professionally trained chefs worked with the children and families in our program and provided a cooking demonstration that they are sure to remember!!! The chefs were able to incorporate ingredients from our Urban Farm to complete this fresh and delicious meal.

We are so thankful for NFL Superstar 🏈 and his for always being available to support our homeless families. We had a great meal 🥘, amazing conversation and lots of fun!!! We’d also like to shout out 📢 for coordinating such a great day!

Upward Bound House would like to thank Maya Sakamoto! In 2019, she started baking birthday cakes for the children of UBH because she had a passion for baking and wanted to contribute to the community. As a child, she remembered how happy she felt on her birthday when she made a wish and blew out candles and wanted our kids to have the same experience. We wish you the best of luck as you start your college career at Cornell University this fall!

Thank you to the 4 J’s (Jake, Jacob, Jason, and Justin) and Ryan for facilitating another amazing fundraiser to support the families of Upward Bound House. On January 22, 2021, this amazing group of young men hosted an on-line “Concert and Movie Night” as a way of lending their skills and talents to partner with Upward Bound House in the fight against family homelessness. We are thankful for this group of world changers in our community.
