We’d like to give a warm welcome to - the newest member of our trainers! Vanessa is a fully certified Classical Pilates Instructor in all Apparatus from Core Pilates NYC. She also earned a certification in Advanced Therapeutic Practitioner with Erika Bloom Pilates. Vanessa never stops studying. She specializes in Pre and Postnatal and special cases such as spinal issues, osteoporosis, hip, and shoulder replacements. Vanessa loves to move, dance, and watch people moving beautifully. INSTRUCTOR SPOTLIGHT 🌟 : Monica Pack (.pilates) A dancer since the age of 3, movement has always been an essential part of Monica's life. In college, she was introduced to Pilates as a flexibility and strength-building method that complemented her dance training, heightening her ability to prevent injury. She fell in love with the practice and technique and recognized its benefits for people of all ages and physical ability. Monica received her complete BASI Pilates certification for all levels with a specialization in dance. Subsequently, she has added rehabilitation, injury prevention, pre/post natal and pre-teen/teen Pilates specializations to her teaching repertoire as well. Monica’s experience with dance and personal training provides her valuable insight that gives clients an individualized, balanced workout that is challenging, yet achievable and fun. When Monica is not teaching, you can find her hiking, dancing, practicing Acro yoga, as well as exploring new flavors in the Los Angeles food scene, all while continuing her Pilates education and teaching training.

INSTRUCTOR SPOTLIGHT 🌟 : Justin Cook () is a highly experienced, nationally certified Pilates professional, specializing in corrective exercise and Pilates pedagogy. With a degree in dance from California Institute of the Arts, Justin employs a classical approach to the Pilates method, but also endorses broadening the scope to be inclusive of contemporary and emerging modalities. Using Pilates to facilitate teamwork and community building, his goal is to offer creative, personalized and customized instruction that is accessible, enjoyable and beneficial for clients of all ages and abilities.

INSTRUCTOR SPOTLIGHT 🌟 : Jeff Grimaldo has been a professional dancer for forty years and a Pilates method practitioner for thirty years. It was through dance that he first was introduced to “the method’s” mat work. He has studied intensively with Jillian Hessel at the Well-Tempered Workout in Hollywood and is a member of the Physicalmind Institute in Santa Fe, New Mexico. With over 20 years of studio experience at RE:Form Studio, Winsor Fitness, Bodyline in Beverly Hills, and Sheppard Method Pilates, he has worked privately with elite athletes and dancers as well as the injured and physically limited. Jeffrey believes that the Pilates method is a valuable system for improving body strength and length, but most importantly for learning to connect mind to muscle. It is this body awareness that one can then take into every activity for life.

INSTRUCTOR SPOTLIGHT 🌟 : Andrea Hackin - Before joining The Core Response team Andrea co-owned Body Aligned Pilates in Pacific Palisades for 17 years. She has been teaching Pilates for 23 years. She is certified in Long Beach Dance Conditioning taught by Master Pilates teacher Marie-Jose Blom. She is also fully certified in Stott Pilates and was taught by Master teacher John Garey. Andrea continues to expand her movement expertise through workshops offered throughout Southern California. Andrea is adept at customizing workouts designed for clients with diverse abilities and addressing personal needs. “My goal is to increase clients’ strength, mobility and body awareness, as well as keeping each session interesting, varied, challenging and fun.”

INSTRUCTOR SPOTLIGHT 🌟 : Stefanie Gazzana - Practicing the classical style of Joseph Pilates, Stefanie helps clients retain or improve their flexibility, improve and maintain proper postural alignment and get a great workout at the same time! After her own personal experience of gaining significant weight during pregnancy, Stefanie discovered the importance of Pilates and core strength. She is certified in TRX and sports rehabilitation, and loves to keep learning new and exciting techniques that include accessories like the Oov. When not at the studio, Stefanie can usually be found out on a run, in a yoga class or reading a latest bestseller.

INSTRUCTOR SPOTLIGHT 🌟: Janine de Zarn “When I first started practicing Pilates, I felt like I had been given the keys to the kingdom of physical health and well being in my body. I work to pass this knowledge on to my clients by showing each one how to move their own body optimally through the use of Pilates exercises and by educating them on how the body works anatomically in general so they understand how they move on an intellectual level.”
Janine is a certified Pilates Instructor with 20+ years experience teaching Pilates in studios and in a rehab setting. Janine has always been a mover starting as a child by training in ballet and then becoming a professional dancer in musical theater for several years. She then became a certified aerobics teacher in the ‘80‘s and was a part of a special team of instructors for Team Reebok - New England as part of ‘s health and wellness outreach programs. It wasn’t until after she moved to Los Angeles that she discovered Pilates and fell in love with this form of movement. Trained in both Classical Pilates and Fletcher inspired technique, she was certified by the Sheppard Method Pilates Teacher Training Program in mat and all equipment. She went on to become co-director for the program for 10 years. For the past several years, Janine has continued as the Functional Anatomy instructor for the program which she enjoys teaching immensely.
Janine also worked for a pain management doctor in a rehab setting for 16 years. She has helped patients recover from surgeries such as hip replacements and shoulder surgeries as well as , , , , balance issues and . She believes in educating the patient or client about their body so that they have a better understanding of how they move and can begin to feel when they are in alignment and moving optimally, keeping their body healthy. Janine strives to help her clients to feel energetic and elongated after a Pilates session.

INSTRUCTOR SPOTLIGHT 🌟: Ashley Stauffer - A life-long student of movement, Ashley first began her study of body mechanics with gymnastics. This provided her a strong foundation and awareness of the benefits of repetition, practice, strength building, flexibility and healing, which gave way to a sense of peace and satisfaction through movement for her. As an adult, Ashley spent a decade incorporating Pilates into her movement regime, beginning with a simple Mat class, then expanding her practice in New York City with reformer classes at the Kane School of Core Integration. This experience inspired her love of biomechanics as well as a mentorship with Kelly Kane. Back in Los Angeles Ashley continued her studies with Risa Sheppard at Sheppard Method Pilates. Ashley's holistic approach to Pilates mixes wellness with an athletic workout and functional movement. She loves leading her clients through the fundaments of human form and inspiring awareness, ease and release in the body which furthers proper alignment, confidence and strength for those who practice with her.
Ashley’s movement certifications also include cycling and DaRulk: Raw Functional Training (RFT). She is also experienced and passionate about working with osteoporosis, scoliosis, diastasis recti, pre and post-natal clients.
INSTRUCTOR SPOTLIGHT 🌟 “Many people think Pilates is either too expensive, too hard or not hard enough,” says owner/founder, Carlos Requejo. “Pilates is for everyone – people of all ages, sizes, fitness & health levels.”
Carlos has more than 30 years of experience as a Pilates and fitness instructor, and is an international master teacher & personal trainer. He is certified with Stott Pilates Advance Level and has completed workshops in scoliosis as well as Pre/Post Natal. He was an AFAA Master Certification Specialist in Group Primary, Practical Pilates, Practical Yoga, Mat Science I & II, & Floor, Core and More. Carlos is also Hatha Yoga certified w/ White Lotus Foundation, TRX certified, Oov certified, & has been a massage therapist for more than 25 years. He has also starred in numerous fitness videos and co-written manuals about Pilates and yoga for American Fitness Association of America (AFAA). Most recently, Carlos created and starred in videos for the 50+ population for the American Specialty Health (ASH) and the Silver & Fit program.
Carlos discovered Pilates through Michele Larsson while co-owning a fitness, yoga and dance studio in Santa Fe in the late 90’s. His own personal injuries, brought on by the high demands of working in the fitness industry, led him to seek Pilates to address his issues. To learn more about the work of Joseph Pilates, he moved to Los Angeles in 2001 to work exclusively with Sue Atamian Huntley (BASI certified).
Four years later, in 2005, he completed his Stott Pilates training with John Garey and opened Core Response Pilates & Wellness in Santa Monica. Carlos not only works with celebrities, athletes, working moms and overall healthy clients, but also takes referrals from various chiropractors, physical therapists and other healthcare professionals. He has a passion for working with clients who have scoliosis, as he himself was diagnosed with a mild case.
