Essential oils are definitely an all natural way to bring pure, natural, chemical and toxin free scents into your home, and make it smell inviting and comforting. Some of my favorite aromas are vanilla, cinnamon, peppermint, pine, orange, and clove.
For a more invigorating atmosphere, one might add frankincense, rosemary, sage, lemon and any of the mint family. For building confidence and a sense of self-worth, according to Suzanne Bovenizer, are frankincense, cedarwood, sandalwood, jasmine. ylang ylang and neroli.
To help keep your environment safe and healthy for you and your guests, tea tree, eucalyptus, lavender rosemary blend, lemon, juniper and cedarwood are most effective. Diffusing essential oils can help kill off airborne germs and promote a healthier setting.
Some of my favorite diffuser blends are:
(all recipes are approximate to taste)

O Christmas Tree:

Pine or Spruce 2 drops
Juniper 2 drops
Cedarwood 2 drops

Candy Cane:
Wintergreen 4 drops
Peppermint 4 drops
Cinnamon 2 drops

Holiday Cheer:
Orange 3 drops
Cinnamon 2 drops
Clove 1 drop

St. Nicholas Blend:
Sweet Orange 4 parts
Cinnamon 1 part
Nutmeg 1 part
Clove 1 part
Ginger 2 parts

All of these recipes can be adapted to taste for Room & Pillow spray and Household cleaner.
Room and Pillow Spray: 1/4c. of Witch Hazel to 8 oz. distilled or filtered water, and 40-50 drops of your oils of choice.

Household Cleaner: ¼ c. of white vinegar to 8-10 oz. of distilled or filtered water and 20-30 drops of oils of your choice, to taste since some oils are stronger than others but these are approximate proportions.
Some benefits and properties of these essential oil blends are for immune support, energizing, uplifting, decongesting and cleansing. It also helps bring balance to the body and the sweet, warm and spicy smells help to release anger. When diffusing, you can take advantage of its aromatic properties, say a positive affirmation, a special prayer, or give thanks, and use them at the start of each season to set your intentions for that season.
