LAST DAY FOR...MATCHA 💚

Today is the last day for matcha. Tomorrow it gets replaced with Lemon Pineapple Sour!

I 💚 OUR...
..CUSTOMERS (or as I like to call them Frozen Fruit Co Fam). is the reason Matcha is on the menu this week and I couldn't be more grateful.

Last week she sent me a lovely message saying how much she loved our matcha flavor and asking when it would be back on the menu.

I have developed so many flavors now, I have to admit I sometimes forget them. Matcha was one of them. We haven't made our matcha flavor in nearly a year. So I was super happy when Kisa reminded me (because clearly I am forgetful).

This time around I added a hint of vanilla to the flavor to help balance out the flavor profile for our ice cream. It came out amazing.

Matcha will be here until Friday 6 September.

Would you eat Grasshopper Pie...

Now you may be thinking - "no, I would never eat Grasshopper pie"...but what if I told you grasshopper pie is actually Mint Choc Brownie ice cream. Would you eat it then?

Grasshopper Pie is this weekend special. It is made from a green mint base (I naturally color with organic green spirulina) with chunks of dark Choc Fudge and our house made brownies.

It is flippin' delicious.

So, let me ask you again - "would you eat Grasshopper Pie?"

I LEARNED SOMETHING NEW...
..German Chocolate Cake is super popular as an ice cream flavor. Who even knew. For years I have avoided maybe more risky flavors - thinking they couldn't be made plant-based. Or they wouldn't be good enough.

It shows you sometimes in life you need someone to push you out of your creative limits. Thank you for doing that. You are an inspiration.

Angela's German Chocolate Cake is available all this weekend from the Santa Monica Store. Made from swirls of salted chocolate ice cream with chunks of dark chocolate fudge with a pecan coconut frosting.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I...
..decide to do a collab flavor with yogi ... we do handstands in the store. And, when I say we. I mean she 🤣.

Angela and I worked super hard all week to make a German Chocolate Cake flavor. A flavor I never thought possible.

Made from swirls of salted chocolate ice cream with chunks of dark chocolate fudge and pecan coconut frosting.

It is extremely yummy!

WHAT THEY DIDN'T REALIZE...
..is how amazing these two are! Sending lots of Big Love to and who came in yesterday to do some social media for 🎉

Not only did we have a great time, but they also left with ice cream (both Sweet Laurel flavors - Strawberry Cheesecake and Cookies and Cream). Now, that's what I call a successful day!

WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT...Frozen Fruit Co!

I need to talk to you about "Frozen Fruit Co" - literally. For a while now we have been thinking about changing the name. When we start Frozen Fruit Co back in London 🇬🇧 over 8 years ago we had three flavors:

1️⃣ Mango Strawberry
2️⃣ Blueberry Blackberry
3️⃣ Raspberry Orange

Three completely fruit based flavors. It made sense at the time to call ourselves "Frozen Fruit Co" - since we just had three flavors...and they were made from fruit.

Then things changed. We decided to sell everything and move to Los Angeles. I had never even been to the USA 🇺🇲 before.

Then things changed again. We got better and more experienced at making plant-based ice cream. We got more creative. We started using Coconut Cream as a base for our flavors. We made Chocolate, Vanilla, Chocolate Brownie, Almond Joy, Tiramisu, Grasshopper Pie, Snickers Caramel, Strawberry Cheesecake...the list goes on. We have over 100 recipes now.

We moved on adapted, changed and got better - but our name ("Frozen Fruit Co") stuck. Mostly out of convenience and the hassle of changing.

Do you know the number of times people come in and think we sell frozen fruit, or the emails we get asking for frozen fruit. It is crazy 🤣.

BUT, it has now gotten to the point where I think we need to move on and get a new name. Something that encompasses what we do, what we stand for, and how we make our ice cream.

My life philosophy has always been to make someone's day better. It is the reason why we make our ice cream the way we do.

For those reasons, we are thinking of a name change. To what I am not sure. My favorite is to change to "Big Love". I feel this encapsulates everything we do. But, if I am being honest I am not even sure anymore.

I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback.

In honor of their LA launch we made a "Pickle" Peppermint flavor. Taking our OG Mint Choc Chip flavor and coloring it green with some organic green spirulina.

I also got a Pickle 🥒 hat!

"Pickle" Peppermint will be available until Friday 09 August inclusive.

Other things you need to know. The weekend special is Chocolate Brownie and the flavor of the week is Cherry Swirl.

It is going to be an epic weekend.

I was super excited to meet these two from ... we talked about doing a potential Collab flavor of the week.

Since Pickle 🥒 is Green...I thought about doing something with our Mint Choc Chip - like turning it Green using spirulina or maybe bringing back some Grasshopper Pie Pints.

If you didn't know at FFC we like to have a special flavor for everyday of the week. A flavor you can only get on THAT DAY. A flavor designed to make THAT DAY of the week a little bit more special.

On Tuesday it's Chocolate PB - chocolate ice cream made from coconut cream, cocoa, sea salt and date with swirls of organic unsweetened peanut butter.
