This beautiful 😍 girl, Sydney, is one of thousands of dogs who have benefitted from our free dog training at our People & Pet Innovation Center!
Originally adopted from a shelter, Sydney was sweet & gentle but came with severe anxiety. Her adopter, Katherine, knew she was such a special girl who just needed a little extra help, training, and TLC. Katherine learned about our free 🐶 dog training through a recommendation on the Nextdoor app. Here's what she had to share with us:
"Paws for Life K9 Rescue was recommended to me on NextDoor a few years back, when I had just rescued my super anxious dog from an LA City animal care and control center. I was able to get free one-on-one sessions for us from Paws For Life when I couldn't afford training at the time, and it changed my dog Sydney's quality of life (and mine!)! 🫶 I am now able to make donations from time to time to show my gratitude to your organization and all the amazing work you do! We are grateful!"
It was our dream, and still is, to assist the public with their dogs to help keep them happy in their homes. We offer training and play groups for both community dogs like Sydney and shelter dogs, too.

Do you remember our darling girl, Love? 💗 She received her second major surgery!!
Love underwent surgery on her front left leg, and she was honored with a certificate of bravery for enduring all that she has! 👏
She already received surgery on her front right leg and is recovering very well. Love has been in good paws 🐾 with us!
For those unfamiliar with Love's story, she came into our care with 17 fractures affecting her front and hind legs, ribs, and spine. Poor sweetheart! 😢
This gentle soul was thrown out of a moving car into a homeless encampment, resulting in severe blunt force trauma. Miraculously, her back left thigh bone, which was completely snapped in half, has healed successfully!
Love is truly a resilient spirit 🐶 and incredibly friendly, after all that she has been through. There isn't a single person who meets her that doesn't fall in love with her. 😍
Let's shower Love ❤️ with kisses and well wishes for this significant surgery day!

This keeps the dogs warm during the cooler season and is also the perfect cozy welcome 💙 for our new dogs who we pull each week from the shelter. They love 💛 these soft beds!

Introducing River 🐶, the newest Los Angeles Chargers Pup in partnership with Paws For Life K9 Rescue!
The Chargers visited California Medical Facility to observe Chargers Pup, River, in training and meet with prison administration and Paws for Life K9 Rescue dog trainers.
Beginning in 2020, the Chargers Pup program has followed a service animal in training to highlight the importance of these dogs for people with disabilities.
River is specifically being trained to become a service animal for a military Veteran with PTSD and will be the face of the team's animal welfare work this season! 💙
