Rounding up our series on anxiety disorders, let's explore the role of complementary treatments. Alongside therapy and medication, techniques like stress and relaxation techniques, breathing exercises, yoga, and physical exercise can significantly improve mental health.
These alternative methods provide a holistic approach to treating anxiety disorders, enabling individuals to cultivate a balanced lifestyle while managing their anxiety symptoms. Take the first step towards a healthier, happier life by embracing these complementary treatments today.
While therapy offers essential coping strategies, medications can sometimes be the key to manage an anxiety disorder effectively. Some people find relief from symptoms through anti-anxiety medications and antidepressants. These medications, prescribed and monitored by healthcare professionals, can help reduce the symptoms of anxiety, panic attacks, extreme fear, and worry.
Always remember that your well-being is a priority. If you're experiencing anxiety symptoms, it's crucial to consult with your healthcare provider to understand the potential benefits and risks of these medications.
In our journey to understand anxiety disorders, today we're highlighting the role of therapy. Personalized psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Therapy are key methods used to address anxiety disorders. These therapies help individuals cope with anxiety-inducing situations, confront underlying fears, and develop better coping skills.
CBT, in particular, has shown significant effectiveness in managing anxiety as it helps individuals approach anxiety-inducing situations differently. Therapy is a crucial step in treating anxiety disorders, allowing sufferers to regain control over their lives and emotions.
Understanding anxiety disorders is the first step towards seeking appropriate treatment and regaining control of your life. Statistics reveal that about 40 million adults in the U.S. suffer from anxiety disorders, with only 36.9% receiving treatment. They manifest in various forms such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Panic Disorder, and Social Anxiety Disorder, each presenting unique symptoms and impacts.
Anxiety disorders interfere with job performance, schoolwork, and relationships, and can trigger both physical and emotional symptoms like chronic fatigue, nausea, and irritability. As we delve deeper into this series, we'll explore various treatments for these debilitating conditions.
Despite popular misconceptions, ma*****na use is not harmless. In fact, daily ma*****na use can significantly impact cognitive abilities, heart health, lung health, and overall mental wellbeing. Statistics show that 1 in 10 ma*****na users become addicted, a risk that escalates when usage starts before age 18.
Prolonged use of ma*****na can lead to functional impairment in cognitive abilities, declines in IQ, and difficulties in developing new memories and learning new things. Additionally, it can damage the bronchial passages and lungs and can lead to irregular heart rates and even acute coronary syndromes such as heart attacks.
Concluding our series on Dual Diagnosis, let's discuss the second significant benefit: Improved Treatment Outcomes. With the simultaneous treatment of substance abuse and any co-occurring mental health disorders, patients often experience better recovery outcomes. They not only get clean but also learn to manage their mental health symptoms effectively.
At Reward Path Recovery, our Dual Diagnosis approach ensures a comprehensive treatment plan that sets patients up for a well-rounded recovery and a healthier, happier future. Thank you for joining us on this enlightening journey exploring the benefits of Dual Diagnosis.
Continuing our series on Dual Diagnosis, let's delve into the first benefit: Enhanced Understanding. In a Dual Diagnosis approach, understanding that mental health disorders and substance abuse often occur together allows for a more informed and holistic treatment plan.
This understanding creates an environment for effective treatment, addressing not just the symptoms, but the roots of the problem. This approach acknowledges the complex nature of addiction and is a cornerstone in crafting a comprehensive path towards recovery. Stay tuned for our next post where we explore another pivotal benefit of Dual Diagnosis.
Welcome to our three-part series exploring the crucial benefits of Dual Diagnosis in the journey of recovery. For those who aren't familiar, Dual Diagnosis refers to a treatment approach that addresses both substance abuse and any co-occurring mental health disorders. Often, these conditions are deeply intertwined, each feeding into and exacerbating the other.
At Reward Path Recovery, we understand the need for a comprehensive treatment plan that takes into account both these facets. By doing so, we not only help alleviate addiction symptoms but also manage the underlying mental health conditions. Stay tuned for our next post where we dive deeper into this comprehensive treatment approach.
Medical Detox at Reward Path Recovery goes beyond just addressing substance abuse. We're a dual diagnosis treatment center, which means we're committed to treating co-morbid conditions that often accompany addiction. Mental health symptoms can sometimes exacerbate during the withdrawal process, making this kind of comprehensive treatment even more crucial.
Our dedicated team of experts is trained to provide medical care and treatment for both withdrawal symptoms and underlying mental health symptoms. So, whether you're grappling with an undiagnosed mental disorder or battling addiction, we're equipped to provide the holistic care you need for a well-rounded recovery.
Have you ever considered the importance of life-saving care in the detox process? Withdrawal from substance abuse can sometimes trigger severe symptoms like hallucinations, suicidal thoughts, and even cardiac arrest. A medical detox center, like Reward Path Recovery, is equipped to manage these complications professionally, ensuring your safety throughout the process.
Our seasoned medical personnel are always on hand, ready to provide immediate and essential care when required. This kind of expert supervision means you can detox with peace of mind, knowing you're in capable hands. Let us guide you through this challenging process towards the rewarding path of a substance-free life.
When embarking on a journey to recovery, it's essential to note the benefits a medically supervised detox can offer. One significant advantage is the provision of Emotional Support. Detoxification isn't just a physical process. It's often emotionally taxing, sometimes bringing about feelings of anxiety and depression.
At Reward Path Recovery, we believe that emotional well-being is crucial to the recovery process. Our team of experienced counselors are ready to provide the necessary support, offering coping strategies to navigate through these challenging emotions. With our care, you can rest assured that your path to recovery will be nurtured holistically.
What exactly is medical detox? Simply put, it's the first, critical step on your journey to recovery from substance abuse. It involves a process where harmful substances are safely and systematically removed from your body under professional supervision. The goal? To manage the physical aspects of withdrawal and set the stage for comprehensive addiction treatment.
At Reward Path Recovery, we understand the complexities involved in this process. It's not just about purging the body of toxins, but also about managing the physical and psychological symptoms that arise. Withdrawal can often include headaches, fever, nausea, depression, and even more severe symptoms. Our experienced medical staff will be with you every step of the way, offering you the care and support needed to safely navigate through this challenging phase towards a clean and healthy life.
At Reward Path, we understand that recovery is uncomfortable. That’s why we’ve created a dual diagnosis program that blends up-to-date psychology with time-tested 12-step recovery culture and harnesses our clients’ natural motivation to seek pleasure and success.
"It's ancient wisdom, which is why I love the twelve steps." Hear how Gigi feels about the program as it relates to age old philosophy.
By embracing who we are and loving ourselves for all of our imperfections, we can live with greater peace and happiness. Forgiving others, meanwhile, helps us to let go of anger and resentment, freeing us from negative emotions that can hold us back. When we accept ourselves and forgive others, we open the door to a brighter future and build stronger, more meaningful relationships. So take a deep breath, be kind to yourself, and extend compassion to those around you.
At Reward Path, we have developed a proprietary approach to substance abuse and co-occurring mental disorders. In addition to providing addiction standard-of-care curriculum, owner/founder and psychiatrist-in-recovery Michael Vivian has developed an innovative, supplemental workbook called “Reward Path Recovery” based on his academic, professional and personal experience. He applies his UCLA education and UC San Francisco training to expand and enrich his understanding of traditional recovery culture.
With over 29 different types of treatment and over 26 dual diagnoses, our team of clinicians is confident we can help you regain control of your life.
dual diagnosis treatment enables you to undergo a more effective medical detox. The withdrawal process can be challenging both physically and emotionally. When you have a mental disorder, the symptoms of your disorder may also become exacerbated by the withdrawal process.
While another treatment program may only be able to treat your substance abuse and withdrawal symptoms, our counselors and medical personnel at Reward Path Recovery can treat both your substance abuse and your mental health. Dual diagnosis treatment allows you to be fully supported during your medical detox and rehabilitation. At Reward Path Recovery, we have the professional and experienced care you need.
Especially during the detox stage, symptoms of drug or alcohol withdrawal can be so grueling that if you’re fighting this alone, there is a great temptation to use again. With Reward Path Recovery's inpatient program, we are with you every step of the way with the medical care, emotional support and psychological counseling you need to recover for life.
Each client is offered a personalized treatment plan crafted by our team in a supportive environment where science meets the soul. We encourage our clients to ask questions. Reward Path is unique in its incentive-structured, non-denominational, inclusive programming. It’s our experience that this formulation makes the recovery process more amenable and effective for those suffering; whether they are new to recovery, just returning, or feel that their spiritual toolkit is incomplete.
Approximately 50% of those living with mental health disorders are also living with a substance abuse disorder. It can often be difficult to find a drug and alcohol rehab that effectively treats both disorders. At Reward Path, we have developed a proprietary approach to substance abuse and co-occurring mental disorders.
To live authentically is the greatest gift you can give to yourself and others. This is our hope for you.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in 2020, fentanyl was involved in over 60% of opioid-related overdose deaths. Over 150 people die every day from overdoses related to synthetic opioids like fentanyl. What's worse is more and more drugs are being laced with this potent drug, containing deadly levels that are undetectable by sight, smell or taste.
Napolean Hill said, "every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed on an equal or greater benefit". At Reward Path, we believe the adversity we've endured on our path paved the way for the healing we've experienced and in turn hope to share with others.

Our clinical director, Gigi, is a trauma informed therapist who teaches our clients to recognize and trust their somatic cues (body-based feelings), and to set healthy boundaries based upon those feelings.
