FJC Staff and Partners showed up and showed out for Denim Day yesterday! Our team of advocates, prosecutors, interns, law enforcement, volunteers, administrative and government staff are dedicated to raising awareness and dismantling stigmas about sexual assault. The FJC is grateful to partner with , Sonoma County’s Sexual Assault Prevention, Intervention, & Healing Center, to provide services to survivors of sexual assault in Sonoma County.
Make a statement with your fashion next Wednesday (4/24) by wearing denim to show support and solidarity for survivors of sexual violence.
Federal funding for victim services has declined dramatically, and if California does not step in to provide funding, domestic violence service providers and other victim services will experience steep across-the-board cuts to their funding that will directly impact survivors’ ability to access the safety and healing the need and deserve.

One of the major barriers to safety for many of our clients is securing safe housing for themselves and their pets. In fact, up to 48% of women with pets delay leaving a dangerous environment for fear of their pet’s safety. Knowing this, our partner Ruthless Kindness (RK) operates a foster program for the animal members of our clients’ families. If you’ve ever wondered how you can directly help survivors of domestic violence or other types of abuse—this may be your chance! RK is looking for foster homes for these cherished pets while their permanent guardian is in a crisis. RK offers training and support throughout the fostering experience, which can last from 48 hrs to 6 months. You get to decide what length of stay and type of animal works for you. Interested? Fill out an application at www.ruthlesskindness.org/foster-application . Together, we can make Sonoma County a safer place for all of us.
