Our third annual Holiday Toy Drive was a HUGE SUCCESS thanks to the immense generosity of our community. 2,224 gifts were given to foster, kincare, and at-risk youth.
Distribution was through the Department of Social Services County of Santa Barbara, Family Care Network Inc., KINCARES, Inc., Childhelp, Changing Faces and Agape Homes, Foster and Kinship families.
We are very grateful to our community for supporting our efforts. It’s because of your kindness children who otherwise would not have received gifts were remembered.
A special thank you to the youth in our community….

Annual Holiday Toy Drive – November 1st – December 15th
Benefiting Foster and Kinship Youth in Santa Barbara County
The 2014 holiday season for the majority of foster and kinship children in Santa Barbara County will not be joyous unless we make sure no child is forgotten. Warm a child’s heart this holiday season and all year long by DONATING to the toy drive.
We are asking for your help. And, the nice part is that it’s easy to help a little or a lot. Become a corporate, business, family or friend sponsor, host a toy drive at your Church, Temple, school or organization, make a donation for technical support and gift cards, or drop off new unwrapped toys and/or clothing at numerous locations across Santa Barbara County.

This past Friday we were honored to have two guests share their life experiences with the young men at Los Prietos Boys Camp. We’d like to thank our friends Lt. Luis Delgado (NAVY F-18 Pilot) and Dr. Pitter Hogan (NAVY) for their OUTSTANDING inspirational and motivational stories. Our appreciation and thanks to LPBC Director, Laurie Hollbrook.

The Los Prietos Boys Camp provides a local commitment option for delinquent males between the ages of 13 and 18. Los Prietos offers a 120 or a 180 day program. Wards earn their way out of the program based on their participation and behavior.
The goal of Los Prietos is to return wards to the community as responsible and productive members of society. Discipline, respect and responsibility are the motto of the facility. Programs embrace a zero-gang tolerance philosophy and strive to provide pro-social training, opportunities and life experiences that help to broaden a boy’s world view, as well as his attitude toward all community.
The program provides work and vocational training, counseling, drug and alcohol programming, religious and spiritual expression, and promotes volunteer and community work service.

Our 1st Holiday Toy Drive was a HUGE SUCCESS thanks to ALL of YOU! We gifted 1,900+ toys and 650+ articles of clothing to Santa Barbara County Foster Children.
Gifts were distributed through The Foster Parent Association, Child Welfare Services, Foster and Kinship Parent Trainings, Kincares, Group Homes, and ACF elves.
Did I mention that Santa is also sending six foster children to meet his dear friends Mickey and Minnie Mouse at Disneyland?

Drop off toys or clothing, show your support by “liking us” on our page, or spread the word that in 2012, over 750 children spent time in the Santa Barbara County foster care system. 100% had been abused, neglected or abandoned. (Source: CASA) Together we CAN make a difference!
