They always look smaller on the ramp. Trying as hard as we may, there was no way to squeeze a 172 in there. The panel upgrade is on the back burner while we attend to the big kids.
Time for a panel upgrade in our 172. It’s going to be great to put a modern panel in this 172 seaplane. It will be lighter and full IFR capable. Can’t wait to get our first IFR clearance from an Adirondack Lake!
When the mechanics get some downtime they make dioramas of our airport 😂.
Sure we love going fast! But going slow is even more fun. Go is restoring two Super Cubs this winter. Thousands of hours of rebuilding, sandblasting, and repainting ahead. It will all be worth it in the spring!
The pros finally showed up today to help finish installing the 421 engine. “Hold my juice box, I’m going in!”
Nothing like a fresh engine. This one might see it's first run today!

This motley crew just finished some King Air ground runs! Cleared for flight for a busy weekend of travel. Who's flying this weekend?
Where are you ready to GO!
This truck is the difference between having your flight delayed, and having your flight canceled!
The view from an airplane window can make the world down below seem like a simpler place.
And we're off! Almost 1000 hand painted locally sourced eggs were loaded into our Super Cub this morning. Our pilots are scattering them all over the Adirondacks for the first annual backcountry Easter egg hunt! Happy Easter everyone!
Throwback to warm, late summer days and a last minute trip to northern Quebec!
Happy Thanksgiving! We are feeling thankful for food on the table, snow on the slopes, and the graceful, non turkey-like fight characteristics of our aircraft.
When there's too many planes in the hangar, you can count on Rust-Oleum to free up some space.
Happy Friday! They guys in the shop had a busy week! Today's project was disassembling the right engine from our Twin Comanche. By our calculations this io-320 has spun the propeller 345 million times! Still looks new inside but it's time for an overhaul.
As cold weather approaches, be sure to carry a modern tool kit in case you find yourself stranded and in need of a repair. Most importantly, make sure your monkey wrench is calibrated.
We are just going to wing it! Rebuilding some super cub wings in the shop today.
At Go Aviation we love big tires! And this is one of our biggest yet. Duncan Bender found this gash on one of the Airbus 319's we maintain. Now for a "quick" NASCAR style tire change so these passengers can GO on their way!
Simply amazing technology - a turbine powered Super Cub. Thanks to our innovative and skilled mechanics for building this prototype. What a time to be alive.
Summer in September
Just over a week ago, we were swimming and flying floatplanes.
Winter is coming.... but it's not here yet!
This is a reminder to all passengers to refrain from feeding the wildlife.
Warm water, cold air. Late August mornings in the northeast. Happy Sunday from somewhere on the Raquette.
So this is about to happen!
Where will your adventure take you today?
Gorgeous day at the workplace.
Love it or hate it you decide? This rare wild PC-12 was spotted in Asheville yesterday.
Wings in waiting: The structure of a classic Super Cub wing lays atop its old fabric covering on the floor of our shop this week. Follow along as the restoration continues in the coming months!
Happy Friday everyone! Get out and explore this weekend. You might see a moose or at least find some blueberries.
Support for Short, concerns about helicopters at airport hearing | News, Sports, Jobs - Adirondack Daily Enterprise
Updates on Adirondack Heli Tours.
adirondackdailyenterprise.com North Elba town Supervisor Roby Politi speaks to the dozens of people in attendance at a public hearing Monday evening at the North Elba Town Hall regarding the town’s airport operation agreement with Steve Short and Adirondack Flying Services. For those who don't know Go Aviation has been struggling with the Town of North Elba for the right to operate at the Lake Placid Airport. Adirondack Heli Tours has the legal right to operate at any publicly funded airport. It's not the Town of North Elba's job to decide which businesses should survive! There is a blatant conflict of interest at play when the airport manager is also the only operator on site and offers competing airplane tours!
Lake Placid Airport battle brews: North Elba mulls legal options as helicopter tour company demands space http://ow.ly/JwOx30cFmgk

Delivery for Go Aviation! One 1967 Super Cub project was delivered. This Super Cub restoration has a very special purpose... keep following along to find out what it is and watch us bring alive a piece of history.
Leak checking the EDO-2000's we are restoring for the 172. These floats took on a lot of water before the restoration. We are going to seal them up tight! At 8lbs a gallon it adds up fast.
Precision practice, you wouldn't believe how hard it is to pick up a cone with a helicopter!
