PSA NEWS ALERT🚨 In less that 5 days, we will be getting back to our grassroots of just helping people in need the best way we know how. I have called all of my colleagues and friends in joining forces together in providing free dental care to our underserved community. Please help me in spreading the word out there that we are ready to help this coming Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 8am-1pm for Project Christmas Smile. After a long hiatus Project Christmas Smile 2022 will be happening on December 10th 2022 in select locations all over Sarasota and Venice. This a grassroots project to provide free basic dental care for those who are in need so that no one wakes up on Christmas morning with a toothache. This is a first come first serve project so it is super important to arrive early as we will only able to accommodate as many patients that we can with the allotted time. Posted • WHITE BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER 👁😁. In the consultation of my clients, we do not talk about teeth. We talk about emotional connection. This is a continuation of the RESTORATION HAPPINESS project where we dive into the the psychological connection of the most expressive part of a human being. In this case, after years of unhappiness of previous dental work, we took our time to unravel each layer of a person’s being to connect with their smile again. Sometimes there is a preconceived notion that a clinician knows what is best aesthetically for the patient. Sometimes this is true, but most times it takes a collaborative effort to understand the patients desires to reconnect to happiness.

The patient’s chief complaint is that her teeth does not feel like her own and they are not white enough for her personality. They are too long and uncomfortable. She also presented with a disturbance in her speech and difficulty to chew. After our interview and connecting with our patient, we became fully invested in our patient in achieving her goals as well as ours in creating an optimal oral environment. We collaborated with Dr. Javier Gonzalez (periodontist) and Dr. Scott Middleton (oral surgeon) in developing the soft and hard tissue foundations for gingival health and implant therapy. The case was restored with Ivoclar ZirCAD Prime layered . Digital scans from Primescan . Don’t worry we will be back!

Unfortunately, we have deliberated the pros and cons of having a mass gathering of this event for this year. Since having the Delta variant still prevalent, we have decided to postpone the event till a later date until this concern has subsided. This decision weighed on us heavily as there are so many people that need access to care. Because of the mixture of indigent and possible unvaccinated patients coming in with fevers due to dental infections, it would too difficult to maintain safety of all of the volunteers and other patients who are seeking care. We will try to update the public as soon as we are clear to proceed and to coordinate with all of our volunteers. Thank you so much for your patience on this. 🙏❤️
