We congratulate Father Nicholas Nwagwu on the successful defense of his thesis “Coping with Stress and its Attendant Burnout in Ministry: A Case Study of Okigwe Priests, Nigeria”. Seated on the defense panel were Dr. Paul Kirbas, President of the Graduate Theological Foundation, Dr. Mike Brock, the GTF Carl Ransom Rogers Professor of Counseling Psychology, and Dr. Edward Marshall, the GTF Viktor E. Frankl Professor of Psychotherapy and Spirituality.

We congratulate the Rev. Anthony Nwudah for the successful defense of his thesis entitled “How Environment Impacts Purpose and Meaning in Life of Minority Ethnic Groups in America, Thereby Affecting their Health, the Health of their Communities, and the Society”. Faculty participants for the defense were GTF President and Paul Tillich Professor of Theology and Culture Dr. Paul J. Kirbas, The GTF Mignon Eisenberg Professor of Logotherapy Dr. Maria Marshall, and the GTF Karen Horney Professor of Counseling and Psychology Dr. Ann-Marie Neale.

We are saddened to report the death of the Right Reverend Dr. Keith Riglin, the GTF Professor of Ecclesiology and Sacramental Theology. In addition to his role here at GTF, Dr. Riglin had a distinguished career which you can read about here:

The Administrative Offices of the Graduate Theological Foundation will be closed this Wednesday through Friday for the USA Thanksgiving Holiday. We wish all those who celebrate this holiday to have a blessed and joyous one.

The GTF Intensive Residential courses aren’t all work and study. Our students also enjoyed a field trip to Siesta Key Beach!

The current residential course “In Search of the Human Soul” is off and running. We welcome this group of diverse students to our campus in Sarasota, Florida for this spirited study!

We are saddened to report that we have learned that faculty member Dr. Anthony Nwachukwu passed away. Dr. Nwachukwu was a leading faculty member here at GTF, and was the leader of our Bureau for West African Studies. Father Anthony will be missed by all of us here in the GTF community.

The GTF Administrative Offices will be closed on Monday, September 4, due to the USA Labor Day holiday. We wish everyone a very safe and blessed weekend.

We are sad to announce the death of a former GTF faculty member, Dr. Richard Gilbert. We are thankful for his many years of service to GTF.
