Before beautiful Longboat Key faced the impacts of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, I had the pleasure of meeting a wonderful family for a sunrise beach portrait session. That morning, we had to wade through calf-deep water to reach the beach, which had been flooded by another tropical system that left plenty of it's own damage. However, the beach itself was preserved and absolutely stunning. The family was preparing to send their recent high school graduate off to college and wanted to capture this final chapter of childhood together. It was a perfect morning, and I am so honored to be a part of their family memories.

Landon is a senior at Venice High School. He is not only a super-talented athlete but also one of the most respectful and kind individuals you'll ever meet. We had the most amazing sunrise for his senior portrait session on Sarasota Bay. I cannot wait to follow along his journey.

Senior Portrait sessions for the Class of 2025 are underway! Among the notable students at Sarasota High School is Austin, a dedicated and passionate individual who is the cross-country team captain. Since his freshman year, he has displayed remarkable athleticism as a varsity cross-country and Track athlete, all while excelling in his academic pursuits. Austin's future is undoubtedly filled with brilliant opportunities and accomplishments.

Senior Portrait sessions for the Class of 2025 are underway. Annesley, a rising senior at Saint Stephen's Episcopal School in Bradenton, had a two-part session that perfectly captured her personality and passion. I really love this black-and-white photo. It showcases the perfect juxtaposition of beauty and intensity in her eyes. But, the color shows the wear and tear on her PINK helmet (which goes beautifully with her blue eyes).

Yes, I still photograph newborns, babies, and families. I have just been negligent in sharing. Sweet Nora's lifestyle newborn session took place in her Sarasota home, showcasing her beautifully decorated nursery. Her talented father lovingly painted a custom mural on her walls. Her entire family, including her newly promoted big brother, Finn (and Fanciful Photography Baby Planner graduate), enjoyed the comfort of their home while creating timeless memories and newborn portraits. Remember, it's best to schedule newborn photo sessions within the first two weeks of life for those adorable, sleepy poses.

Congratulations to the outstanding class of 2024! Hayden proved himself as an academic powerhouse, a defensive football star, and a valuable baseball player at Sarasota High School. His senior photo session was held on the New College Campus, where he will attend next year. Hayden will continue his baseball journey there, as a Mighty Banyan. It was an absolute honor to capture this final high school chapter. Your future is incredibly bright. Enjoy every moment tonight as you walk the stage tonight to accept your diploma,

Sarasota High School Prom Preview

I caught this star pitcher at first light! The foggy downtown backdrop made for some epic senior shots. I can't wait to see what Riverview High School Will's "next season" has in store. He is committed to playing baseball at Coastal Carolina next year.

Certain wins just hit (see what I did there) differently. The Sailors' dramatic win over Manatee in extra innings was one of them.

TEN years ago, and this remains a favorite of my now 17 year old boy. Get the photos, capture the milestone. Don't wait for the teeth to grow in, the hair to be perfect, to lose the 5 pounds.

Many of my clients and friends know how much I adore the "window" - the last tiny bit of "baby" left seen in the toothless smile in the early school-age crowd. I have been on cloud nine, watching my own boy with his window and decided to take him out tonight for a quick session to really document it. We had lots of fun on our "date", just he and I. This one image, well, it pretty much melts me. Don't wait for the teeth to grow in to schedule your child's session. This is one of the last big milestones, celebrate it!

Sarasota High Sailor Baseball was victorious over North Port High School last night. The pitching was strong on both sides of the field.

I could blame the time of year and "busy season" for the silence on this page; however, it's clear I have been negligent in general. But I feel extra grateful to be such a big part of so many families' memories for so many years (some, including this family, for nearly 15 years)!

I have a version of this shot of Taylor and her Dad every year for the past 14 years. I love the similarity of these two images, one taken just a few days ago and one from 2016. It's truly a privilege to tell a story and watch my families grow.

October 14th "One A Day" goes to Fanciful Photography!

Braden River Senior Corin woke up for sunrise on one of the last days of her summer break. Not only was the full moon showing off, but it was it the only morning of the week without rain. Corin is the first client to participate in Fanciful Photography's Senior Year Collective. I look forward to seeing her to document her Senior year.

Having my own senior graduate this past year, I realize just how important the "last" family session is before they leave the nest. Fanciful Photography offers a quick family add-odd to senior sessions, and now I encourage (sometimes "force") it with every Senior I photograph. Here are some of the family's favorites from Corin's sunrise session.

What a way to kick-off Senior Class of 2024! Braden River High School’s Corin’s session started with the full moon setting, as sun is rising, while a pair of dolphins 🐬 swam by. AI not needed when nature is this beautiful.

The Boys of Summer! This is just a very small sampling of moments captured during The Mayhem Nation 16U travels this summer. From Ft Myers to West Palm to Atlanta, new state and national rankings were earned and memories were made both on and off the field.

Finn’s mom wanted a simple white and neutral session with a focus on Finn and all the perfect new details and expressions of his first moments in life. These are my favorite sessions, they are timeless, and the focus is on the individual and not “stuff”. Finn was a show off at his session, showing calm, peaceful sleep, and wakeful alert eyes, and a variety of expressions in between. This little guy is getting ready to celebrate his first birthday, so these details seem even more special today.
