Gruesome 3-Car Crash Snarls Traffic on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie Loud sirens could be heard up and down Route 9 on Sunday afternoon after a violent car crash occurred at a busy intersection.

Today, two Kingston Department of Public Works employees who were repairing a catch basin on Cornell Street were injured when a two-vehicle crash at the Ten Broeck Ave intersection forcefully collided into their work area. We are so thankful that their injuries are not more severe-- both employees have been taken to the emergency room and are being treated for injuries. The Kingston Police Department is still investigating the crash at this time.

This is a good time to stress the importance of always using caution and slowing down near any type of roadwork. Never drive around barricades and be very mindful of workers when approaching roadwork areas. This incident could have been tragic.

Mayor Noble wishes a speedy recovery to his Public Works employees involved and thanks all of our first responders who assisted in this incident.
