Had some more kids out today, this time it was the “Funderblast” Hook, Line, & Sinker kids fishing camp. Relatively short 8:00-2:00 trip for them, but the fishing was nothing short of epic, and we made it happen pretty quick. 😎🎣
Great kids, great fishing, and a great time had by all. 19 Limits (38) of Stripers, 3 Halibut… and an experience that these kids will NEVER forget.

Our trip with Korty’ kids fishing camp this week was another huge success !!!
Limits of quality Stripers and a handful of Halibut…. That’s what we caught.
What we did was way bigger than that. I cannot express enough how much fun these kids had and how important it is to the future of what I love - to get our next generation on the other end of the rod from some fish !!
Thank you very much to Jonathan Korty, the parents who got their kids into the Fish Camp… and of course the most important people on the boat… THE KIDS !! We can’t do what we do without YOU !!!

With a tough tide set and some murky & muddy waters in the areas we’ve been fishing in SF Bay recently…. and some much calmer winds & seas out on the big ocean… we opted to switch things up a bit today. Could have been better, but we managed to make a decent day of fishing out of it !!!
We started off hoping to score on some Halibut off the North Bar, but no dice. So we headed up the coast a ways and spent some time targeting Rockfish with some modest results at and just above Duxbury. We worked pretty hard for every fish we caught there & ended up with 1/2 limits… and a couple of Lingcod. We ran back & hit the North bar area again in the early afternoon, but struck out on the Halibut again. So we ended up back in the Bay… real close to home… and pulled a rabbit out of the hat late in the day with a fish per rod of Striped Bass.
Definitely put in our time and rolled the dice on a different plan today… not quite boxcars, but not quite snake eyes either !!! We’ll be back with a vengeance next time. 😎🐟🎣

Our “potluck” trip for tomorrow, Tuesday June 25, is a go !! Very light load with lots of elbow room on this one… !!

Made our sightseeing trips to the Farallons two days in a row !! Seems like the pattern of high winds & rough seas out in the big bad ocean might be changing… 🤞🤞
A little taste of Pacific Ocean offshore at the islands, but nothing too bad. We made it out and made it back with the exact same number of people that we left with… AND we saw a bunch of pretty cool stuff.

Finally got some good ocean conditions & made it out on our Farallon Island sightseeing trip today.
Good to see the island again !! We provided transport home for F&W employee Mackinzie, and had some unbelievable life out beyond the island at the continental shelf… LOTS of krill, Pacific White Sided Dolphins, Northern Right Whale Dolphins, Risso’s Dolphins, and Blue Whales.
No, we did not see any sign of Tuna yet !!! But trust me, we’ll keep looking for that window of opportunity….

6/21/24 - Another great day to get some kids out fishing !!
This time it was our first “Hook Line & Sinker” fish camp trip… and many thanks to Sandrick for getting these trips set up. It’s such a great thing and I know we’re creating life long memories for these kids !!! Twelve kids went home with 22 Striped Bass and 3 Halibut.

6/20/2024. - Such an awesome day with Jonathan Korty and Korty’s Fish Camp. These kids absolutely killed it. Limits of Stripers and a handful of Halibut.

Another great day on the Bay… Limits of some real solid Striped Bass ranging from 5-15lbs, and 20 Halibut to 15lbs for our 16 awesome anglers.

Well that was fun… LIMITS of Halibut & LIMITS of Striped Bass… before noon !!
Fantastic fishing, great weather (for a change ! 😂), and some great people on board made for a truly great day aboard the Salty Lady. 😎🐟🎣

GREAT fishing aboard the Salty Lady !!! Absolutely incredible nonstop action from start to finish on this one… the Stripers were HUNGRY !!! We limited out on 5-10lb Bass within the first 1/2 hour of fishing, and continued to catch and release them for the rest of the day as we picked away at the halibut. Final score…
14 passengers - 16 limits (32) Striped Bass including crew with easily 50 more caught and released…. And 14 Halibut that managed to find one of the baits before a Striper ate it !! 😂🤣

Slim pickings for us today !! Not for lack of trying though… we searched far & wide for the hot bite, but we may have gone a bit too far & too wide perhaps… Sometimes the fish are right in your back yard !! 3 Halibut, 5 Bass, & 1 Leopard Shark on this one.
Taking a few days off here… Capt Jared & Tina are headed out on a short vacation, and we’ll be back on Thursday, June 13 - tides will be back to good, water should clear up, and hopefully the dang wind will calm down by then !!! Still plenty of spots if can join us….

Another great day on the Bay !!
Had some challenges for sure… pretty stiff wind in some of the typical areas we fish, less than ideal tides, muddy water in most areas…. But we kept looking and found some calmer, clearer waters in the end, pulling a rabbit out of the hat really - in the later part of the day - and ending up with over a fish per rod. Mostly Stripers on this one… the halibut were a bit harder to come by for us with three flatties and twenty bass for our 16 anglers as the final score.

Another great day aboard the Salty Lady !! Another light load of just 5 people… lots of room to move around for our peeps, and no tangles !!!
Our photographer took the day off, but it was a beautiful day on the bay on this trip… nice sea breeze - none of that hot stuff where we were !!
Fishing wasn’t quite as hot as it could have been for us, but we ended up just over 2 fish per rod with some big, quality fish coming over the rail and an even mix of Halibut & Striped Bass.

Salty Lady Sportfishing - Reservation System

Our Salty Lady Saturday Six-Pak Supercombo was Successful !!! Light load for a big boat, but it was real nice for some of our AWESOME regulars that joined us today. Lots of elbow room to say the least !!!
Started off with a few big Stripers from rocky reef areas inside the Bay… with a few rockfish and a keeper Lingcod in the mix… as well as a couple halibut from the edges of the rock areas.
From there we moved to a secret spot in the central bay and finished up on the Linesides quickly with some wide open Schooly Striped Bass fishing. Quick easy limits of Stripers there…. And one more halibut in the box….
Spent the rest of our day targeting Halibut in some of the typical East Bay areas. Had to work for ‘em, but we picked away, and ended up with a good box of Flatties - just a couple shy of limits today.
Looking like another light load for this coming Wednesday, 6/5 at this point…
but the trip is a go !!

Before Noon !! Fantastic LIVE BAIT fishing today…. And while it wasn’t all that, we put in a little time afterwards to round off the day - with a couple handfuls of rockfish & lingcod from some close to home spots just outside of the Golden Gate… doesn’t get much better.

Word travels fast, but if you haven’t heard yet… LIVE BAIT season officially starts today. This should fit nicely with our plan to do “potluck” trips on the Salty Lady (basically that means whatever bites… best bet or a combo of Halibut/Striper/Rockfish/Lingcod… or whatever !!)

Despite some less than ideal tides and some pretty stiff winds today we had a great day on the Bay. Covered several spots in both the south & north bay, never finding the mother lode, but catching everywhere we went and ending up with just over a fish per rod.
Spending the day with my DOTR brothers made it a FANTASTIC day !!

These Halibut are certainly fickle fish. When it ain’t right, they WILL not bite… but then the switch gets hit it’s “game on” in the blink of an eye. When that window of opportunity opens you’d better be ready (and willing to put in a little OT) !!!

Our plan for this year is to mix things up a bit & target multiple species… if we can’t do what we do, we’ll do what we can !!
Halibut, Stripers, Rockfish, & Lingcod… for a boat with a very long history & reputation as a Salmon boat, it’s actually not all that easy to just switch gears & get much interest, but we definitely know how to catch the other options in our area & how to make great trips regardless.
I’ve set Fridays aside as our days for these “SuperCombo” trips for now… and we’ll see how it goes. We also have lots of spots for MEMORIAL DAY (Mon, May 27). Our weekend days have been reserved for Farallon Island sightseeing/whale watching tours…
