I should have taken before and after picture on the ceilings. Freshening up these can lights with some white paint completely changed the look in the house!

Where’s my Woodbury peeps at! I’m up in Woodbury today cutting out old caulking and replacing, as well as painting those old odd sized wall registers. Who needs some work?

So often I get asked for direction on selecting the right paint. Your typical sheens are listed below for the average household family with kids.

I work with all brands situationally. For example Sherwin Williams make a contractor grade No VOC paint which is great for big jobs when you don’t want to be smelling paint all day long.

Behr also makes a scuff defense flat paint that I love using because flat is so easy to touch up and it’s still somewhat washable.

Message me directly if you want direction on your next painting project.

I had a small timeframe to complete this whole main level paint job before the home went on the market last week. 18” roller with 3/4” nap to the rescue! It turned out looking really good.

I love a challenge! This older Hopkins home had 2” difference in the floor from one side of the kitchen to the other.

Last week I individually leveled out the subfloor for each cabinet/appliance in preparation of this new kitchen cabinet install I just completed.

It's long past time to free your mind of that list of tasks!

These SpaceLift covers are a hit! I’ll definitely be offering these as part of the installation from now on. Fold down the lid and you’ve got your original floor space!

Photos from Scott’s Handyman Service's post 06/17/2024

I’d say roughly 75% of my clients say “why did I wait so long to do that?” At the completion of my work. So I ask you this, why do we wait? Why do we live in our homes in disrepair?

Photos from Scott’s Handyman Service's post 06/15/2024

This client had a much smaller storage space and was concerned about losing the floor space. The simple solution was a SpaceLift cover. When it’s not in use they can lay a floor board over exterior framing and they’ve got their floor back.

When you’re installing safety grab bars there are so many mounting options out there but there’s truly only one correct way to do it. Directly anchored to the studs is what you want, ignore those flimsy fiberglass mounting systems.

Interesting fact! 90% of all storage facilities are in the U.S. 🤔 If you of someone you know needs safer attic access to cut out a monthly storage bill send me a message!

Do you or someone you know want to claim their attic space for storage without carrying your belongings up those steep stairs?

My next client just finished with the electrician that installed their 15 amp independent circuit for their SpaceLift Attic Lift we’ll be installing this Wednesday.

As your Minnesota dealer you can contact me directly with questions or for a quote.

I always have the best clients that have incredible taste in home decor find me. I’m not sure how but I like it! It’s safe to say I hang a lot of doors.

Here is the roughed in bathroom window I completed by custom building the rest of the sill and trimming it with miters on the arch. It still needs paint which the client decided to do themselves at a later time.

This client called me saying her husband installed this window he had found in their bathroom but wasn’t sure how to finish it. I love a challenge, I’ll get out my saws!

Screen away storm door installed in the “winter”? There’s a first time for everything I guess!

11/16/2023

You’ve gotta love a warmer November! Just enough time to get this mailbox replaced for my clients before snow banks consumed it.

This 2 story update turned out beautifully! We replaced all the doors with six panel solid core doors, updated the door and window casing as well as the baseboard trim to 4 1/4” with base shoe, then we replaced the newel posts, handrail, and balusters with wrought iron 1 baskets and twists. To top it all off we brightened up the whole space with a fresh coat of Sherwin Williams Cashmere paint.

Updating another home this time with a two story renovation. I don’t know how I keep getting such amazing clients to work with but I’m so grateful! Time to create another dream home.

All the good smells today! Cutting fresh lumber smells good… but cutting fresh Cedar… smells SOOO good!

06/20/2023

A pretty cool storm door I installed this morning. It’s full glass and the top pulls halfway down for an “in door” screen option as well.

When you’re in need of a service door’s jamb piece to replace rotted wood, that you’ve got to make yourself on a table saw. Perfect fit!

No job too small. I help so many great clients with their punch list of items, from fresh new caulking, to hanging shelves, brickmould trim replacement, replacing patio door rollers, wall repairs and small painting jobs, the list is endless.
