Beth Brock is a native of Savannah Georgia. She graduated from Savannah Christian Preparatory School, and then attended Brigham Young University, graduating with a degree in Family Science. She was an athlete and enjoyed basketball and volleyball. She later received her MSW from University of Georgia. She has worked in behavioral health for more than 20 years. She is married and has 2 children.
At the age of 48, Beth was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and has been in remission for 10 years. In 2023 she was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotropic Lateral Sclerosis). Before being diagnosed with ALS she discovered Pickleball at Chatham Racquet Club. It was love at first d**k! Ever the fighter, Beth learned how to play with her left hand once ALS robbed her of the ability to play right-handed. As that hand got weaker, she continued to play using her left hand but eventually Pickleball had to stop because unlike normal muscles, with ALS if you use your muscles you lose your muscles.
Chatham Racquet Club is proud to host the 1st annual Beth Brock ALS Pickleball Charity Tournament in her honor. The proceeds from this event will aid ALS United of Georgia to better help Georgia families that are battling this insidious disease.

Did you know that because clay is the softest playing surface it is very forgiving and easiest surface on the body? Also, the surface temperature is significantly cooler than hardcourts. That sounds pretty nice in the August Savannah heat! Am I right?

She can no longer play with her diagnosis, but will be there to watch players in September. 100% of registration fees go to ALS united Georgia.

Update on Debby at Chatham Racquet Club.

Update on Debby:

First of all, we hope and pray that all of of friends and members have stayed safe during this storm. We’ve been at the club this morning assessing damage. All things considered, we are very lucky. We are aware that many people are dealing with significant flooding and damage. There is standing water on all tennis courts and currently 6 windscreens need to be reattached. There is a possibility of getting hard pickleball courts up tomorrow but due to the water damage the clay courts have sustained, there will be no tennis on Thursday and potentially no tennis on Friday. We appreciate everyone’s patience while we put out fresh clay and work to get the courts playable again as quickly as we can.

CRC’s 2nd annual Wimbledon Round Robin was a success! Thanks to everyone who came out to play with Wooden rackets!

Matches are UTR verified and will help build the players UTR rating. Coach Phillip had an emergency procedure this morning but was sure to wear CRC merch to the emergency room and promote the club 👍🎾. He is recovering well but clinics will be cancelled today. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Congratulations to Ben Sibthorpe and Keri Spivey who represented Chatham Racquet Club at the Savannah Golf Club Open and brought home bronze medals. We’ll done!
