Books on Bay
Spectacular Vintage Books 1600s to 1900s Books on Bay provides a unique shopping experience for book lovers.
Tucked away in a small building on West Bay Street below The Attic Antiques, the shop has thousands of books ranging from the 1600s to the late 1900s. Categories include both the traditional (Mystery, Religious) and the whimsical (Authors You Should Recognize, Heaving Bosom Books). All of the favorites are there—Nancy Drew, Cherry Ames, Dick & Jane, Zane Grey, The Hardy Boys, Tom Swift, Dorothy and Toto, and more! Books on Bay is open daily at 10 am, so you can stop by any day of the week!
If you’ve been following us for awhile, you’ll definitely remember Amber—
In 2019, the Nancy Drew Convention was coming to Savannah, and Amber was on the fence about attending. She really wanted to, but she wasn’t too sure about stepping out of her comfort zone. Well . . . with your encouragement, she channeled her inner Nancy Drew and took a daring and adventurous leap of faith. She went to the Convention and—just like ND would have done—she enjoyed every minute of it.
This past weekend, Amber stopped by the shop to say hello and to let us all know she’s still living the Nancy Drew life!
Jaimie has spent 3 years searching for Nancy Drew #56 to complete her set. She’s looked nearly everywhere Nancy would be—by hollow oaks, under haunted bridges, next to whispering statues, and in forgotten cities.
As we know, though, a true Nancy Drew fan doesn’t give up, and today was the day!
Congratulations, Jaimie, you did it!!
Fredda and Sandy took a day off from their Tybee Island vacation to check out our new location. After days of rain from Tropical Storm Debby, my Trixie Belden pals were just what the doctor ordered!
In fact, the day was “perfectly perfect” all the way around!
After more than two months making its way through the permitting process, our sign finally made its debut today!
Of course we took lots of pictures!
Oh wow—
Look what a long-time Books on Bay-er has on her dining room table!
I am blown away!!
Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!
Savannah Magazine’s January/February issue just hit the stands, and we’re listed (and shown) prominently in their article, “Savannah’s Literary Side.”
Thank you for capturing our essence so beautifully, Savannah Magazine!
MERRY CHRISTMAS from the gang at Books on Bay (and Santa too)!
We are over the moon (and then some) that the Tardis now has a home in Savannah!!

Greetings, fellow Trixie fans! Thanks to some fast-thinking Bob-Whites, we’ve finally solved the scammer problem and are ready to tackle the world again.
A long-overdue CONGRATULATIONS to Ann Mettert, the winner of the Trixie Belden quiz books! And a huge thank you to everyone who participated (and for your patience)! Although this was a doozy of a bump in the road, we now seeing a straight path and nothing but blue skies ahead
(Have I told all of you how much we ❤️ you!)
Okay, Bob Whites—trying this again.
This time, I’ve included the information as a photo, so perhaps “it” won’t be noticed by the scammers.
This time, “it” will end at 9 a.m. Monday (eastern time).
If you commented on the previous post, I have your name on the list, and if you have any questions, please ask.
Betsy
Everyone,
A scammer has taken this year’s Trixie Belden giveaway and is using it to get credit card numbers. Books on Bay DOES NOT ask for your credit card information for our giveaways. The giveaways are always free!!
If you received one of the bogus messages saying you won the giveaway, please, please report it to facebook.
These people are despicable and need to be stopped.
I will wait a couple of hours and try the giveaway again.
(Of all times we need Trixie and Honey on the case, this is definitely one!!)

The Shop Around the Corner: Books on Bay writes new chapter at new location When Savannah's beloved Books on Bay lost its least after 15 years, finding a new location proved challenging. But that's the great thing about a story, and this one has a happy ending.
. . . it will be this . . .
