Latest find from the archives. A deeply sculpted Cross of Iona. I haven’t set the gemstones in yet so I can’t show it to you in a stand.

I think that I’ll go ahead and use this Chinese white jade center and aventurine surrounding stones.

We only made one like this with this very rugged rusted iron finish. If interested please let me know. It’s 6x8x3/4 inches and ready to hang.

It’s not up on the website. Just message if interested.

This is a beautiful piece of art. Jeff created a series of historical images of the cross.

This is known as The Cross of Mathilda. Set with white jade and red carnelian.

The design is inspired by the reverse side of a processional cross of Abbess Mathilda and her brother the Duke of Swabia (isn’t that fun to say?) The four evangelists - Matthew the lion, Mark the ox, Luke the man and John the eagle - surround the Lamb of God.

Finely etched brass inlaid into a cast stone body. This is on the website with a few more designs that we have left. All of them are the very last of each design. 5x7 inches.

Last of the Buddhist Wheels. The 2 Lotus designs sold yesterday.

We have 4 fireplace mantles in our 120 year old home in Savannah. The fireplaces are long sealed. The chimneys capped to keep the bats 🦇 out. Yup. Little bats. Lots of them helping to keep the insect population down. Plus they’re fun to watch in the evening. As long as I’m on the veranda and they’re swooping around “out there” - I’m good.

So- back to mantles - we have lots of places for art and rocks and crystals and candles.

Do you have a place to tuck in a little work of art? This is the last buddhist wheel art tile and you can find it in our website at SilkenPath. It’s 5 1/2x5 1/2x1/2 inches.

I recently found 3 of our very old school Buddhist Wheel art tiles. The character of the original stone comes through.

We’ve always known that these works of art create a sacred space no matter where you place them.

An important symbol of Buddhism is the Wheel of Transformation and Spiritual Change - the Dharmachakra. This design of the wheel features a Lotus motif centering the eight pointed wheel.

The Buddhist Wheels are now available on our website at SilkenPath.

The 8 spokes of the wheel symbolize the Buddha’s Noble Eight fold Path of Mindfulness, Understanding, Thought, Speech, Actions, Livelihood, Effort, & Concentration.

“Angels of the Seasons”
One of our most popular art tiles. We made the last one perhaps 10 years ago. Our interpretation of the stained glass windows of the 12th century Cathedral of Notre Dame, Chartres France.

They were a challenge in that when we rubbed in the color, then very very lightly sanded the surface - it was too easy to sand off the finely etched design. We tried other techniques to get the aged marble look and feel. Nothing else made satisfied with the results. So - we sold off some and put a few (3 actually) away in our archived boxes.

I remember a fellow calling me years ago, very upset. He had nocked his wife’s angels off of the piano while moving. She wasn’t home. He found our info on the back label. He asked if we had one to ship right away and I told him no and that we no longer made them. I had forgotten about these that we had tucked away. If you’re out there my friend… get in touch. Or go on the website. There are 3!!! So sorry. Hope their marriage is ok🤞

It measures 11x6 3/4 inches. Is best placed on a stand. On our website now. SilkenPath

Speaking of crosses and wine….wait…those two go together right?

I made this beautiful Byzantine design of a cross in pure silver with an amethyst center stone. The pendant measures 1 x 1 inch and comes with a silver chain.

Swipe over to see the little bunch of grapes that I also made. Tiny leaves and even the curl of the vine. The pendant measures 3/4 “ from the top of the bale to the very last grape at the bottom.

Both pendants are a part of my One of a Kind collection now on the website. Take a look if you like. I’m on a roll for getting my pieces online. It’s been awhile ✨😊

3 Crosses of Antiquity. The Jerusalem Cross, Cross of Byzantium and The Cross of Mathilda.

All on our website now along with 4 other designs. Detailed history labels on the back and also on their website listings.

Last of their kind. Beautifully gem set. Etched brass inlaid into cast stone. Worthy of being passed down as heirlooms. It’s what we’re doing with our set.

5x7x1/2 inches. So rich and lovely. We didn’t make many of these. They took so much time and effort. It was worth it. Knowing that we could create such beauty.

A Pictish Cross and a Cross of Iona (Celtic Cross).

The Picts were a fierce Celtic speaking people in late Iron Age Scotland who prevented the Romans from conquering all of Britain.

Iona is an island off the coast of Scotland where people still visit the Iona Abby that has stood for over three centuries.

Gem set Crosses of Antiquity. Our idea 27 years ago was to recreate historical images of the cross. They were so beautiful. And still are. Available for the first time in two decades. I have one of each on the website now. The link is in our profile.

There are 7 designs in total. We made very few of these crosses and these are now the last ones we will offer for sale.

Honestly they were too time consuming and costly to make. We wanted to create small decor for homes with artistic and spiritual beauty. Making them with a consistency of quality and offered at an accessible price. So - we made and sold some of these and then tucked the rest away in our archives. Now it’s time to bring these last ones out and offer them for sale.

We’ve kept a set for ourselves. They are worthy of passing along as heirlooms.

The Pictish Cross is set with Aventurine and Red Carnelian. The Cross of Iona (Celtic Cross is set with Chinese new jade and Howlite blue lapis.

The Vajra Buddhist Wheel art tile. The “large edition”.

I think that we made 5 of these in total. Sold a few - then tucked these two away in storage for safe keeping as we moved forward with smaller pieces. We realized that we needed more portable art that we could pack up easily as we traveled to art festivals, fairs and markets.

One of the largest tiles that we made at 10x10x1/2 inches. Deeply sculpted. The wheel of change and spiritual transformation. It’s gorgeous and has a heavy duty hanger in the back for display.

I unpacked a box and found this beauty that is now listed on our website along with one in a deeper tan color.

I’ll continue to post our art tiles here and onto the website as I go through our archives.

The All Seeing Eye. Protection from envy, jealousy and negative thought. Drishti - the focused gaze. “As you see the world is as it will be” - my favorite “eye” meaning. What does the eye mean to you?

This one in particular reminds how much I love making these adornments. The most positive intention given to each one as I hand form and etch the designs by hand.

So - go take a look at the website. Link is in the bio. It’s slowly taking on shape after being nearly abandoned for over a year. Help me celebrate the process of working towards completing a project by going to take a look see!!

As P*e Wee and Jambi would say “ Mecca lecca hi, Mecca hiney ho” cause you know. Sometimes we need magic. RIP John Paragon (Jambi)

It has taken more than a year and a half to settle in to our new town. Our home. And life. Longer than I ever expected.

I’ve updated our website with jewelry that I’ve made. Subtle Being Collection.

I am often asked about the art tiles. Whether we will be making them. No. We won’t. Jeff and I always thought that we would be making our spiritual art tiles for as long as we could stand in front of our work bench. The only thing that you can count on is change. Right?

So - I am making jewelry again and loving it. We will continue to offer our “last of their kind” art tiles on the website.

Thank you to all the people we’ve met over the last 27 years of creating art. We’re back. Changed. And back.

It’s been awhile.....I came across two Islamic art tile designs. The Bismillah in a Kutaya style. Swipe to see the Al Hamdu Lillah in a Kufic style of calligraphy. Each has a descriptive label on the back with the translation.
These appear to be the last of these designs. If you want one or both please do just message me. I’ll put them up on the website tonight so if you want to get them now - just let me know. 50 each.
5 1/2 inches square. Cast polymerized plaster with a sophisticated color finish. All of the calligraphy we presented was carefully hand copied by Jeff. We crafted these designs for well over 27 years. Selling off what we had put aside over the years. Our retirement has been more emotional than we anticipated. All is well. Just different for us all.
Take good care my friends.
