Mercer Bears donate teddy bears to the Child Life program at the Willett Children’s Hospital at Memorial/HCA
The Mercer University School of Medicine Skelton Medical Library staff on the Savannah Campus collected 98 new, unused, toddler safe teddy bears from Mercer University School of Medicine faculty, students and staff. On December 2, they were donated to the Child Life Program at HCA Memorial Health Dwaine and Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital to be distributed to children during the holiday season.
Many thanks to all of the students, faculty and staff who donated teddy bears to the Teddy Bear Drive. Neal Hall, Class of 2023, is the recipient of the Teddy Bear Drive Drawing for a $25.00 Visa Card.

For the past month the Faculty, Staff, and Students of the Savannah Campus all participated in our Teddy Bear Drive. This year we collected 101 bears and donated them to the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department. We are so thankful for the opportunity to give during this holiday season!
Everyone who donated a bear was entered into a drawing for a $100.00 Carrabbas gift card; Emily Ann Smith, MS-1 was the winner of our drawing.

Today we celebrated National Medical Library Week with lunch and some fun for our students! Many of them played Operation and won some great prizes! We gave away 3 big prizes today! Mariana Rivera, MS-2, was the best surgeon today, John Douglas, MS-1, won our “guess the number of items in the library” game, and Tara Keil, MS-2, won our “selfie challenge”! Congratulations to our winners and it is always a pleasure to serve as your Medical Library Staff!
A group of our Medical Students delivered candy to Pediatric patients at at Memorial University Medical Center today. They call this activity “Reverse Trick or Treating” and they visited the Pediatric ICU, Neonatal ICU, and the Pediatric Ward!

The Health Sciences Library summer hours are Monday through Friday, 8AM - 5PM. Normal hours will resume on August 8, 2016.
