Update: tactical removal started. No stores are open around here nor are deliveries available. A couple of you kindly send something… not gonna work!. When the tree is removed, maybe tomorrow, we will know more. Today we salvage what we could before the mess to come. Considering, we call ourselves super lucky!. A good bunch of my art took the hit harshly. Ih well, more to be made. Let the insurance dance begin. So far extremely satisfied with and our surgical tree service Longwater Tree Service & Land Management, Inc Coming to visit? We can always use drinking water, big trash bags or a few moving boxes.

Helene came to visit. We are OK and the cats too. Guessing I will be having an art sale soon? 😫 We were so very lucky: the tree landed on our bed!.

Hallways mean storage for our kind. Older work (inventory) that have become part of the family.

I often explain the strangeness of my art as a result of being influenced by the “ family business” of science. Well, I just came across this (obviously staged!) photo while visiting my parental units! Microscopes and visiting dad at work (Hoscht Venezuela and Germany) were regular occurences. Undoubtedly, my early Biology days at UCSD and dearly remembered Biology Prof. Isturiz (Instituto Escuela-my High School in Caracas) had a part in this.

Done!!!! After smoothly traveling 3000 + miles across the US, my sister and I installed Rare Bloom in the beautiful (Webster Woods) in Port Angeles, WA. Excellently managed by the new Gallery and Programs director Stacey Rekkedahl (in photo) and her friendly team. Bear with me as I will soon share photo/video of the experience.

New BRANCH-CUSI. The playful Brancusi-an composition of these new works have a personal connection to the visuals of early attempts at studying Organic Chemistry(). I never forgot my attraction to the aesthetics of geometrically structured carbon rings in poly cyclic compounds. The shapes “happened” a few months ago while processing and experimenting with gathered natural materials (tree branches). As it often happens, something interesting stands out and it is put aside for observation, assimilation and sometimes application. Upon close inspection, the incredibly beautiful natural designs on the woods surface (Spalting) act as intriguing abstract wonders.

All repurposed again, I started working on something from my backyard’s fallen branches, I am enjoying the current working title of: BRANCH-cusi, honoring Romanian artist Constantine Brancusi’s (1876 –1957) vertical works.

In observance to this team’s employee of the for ever upcoming BDay, we present a brief homage to some of her recent indispensable contributions.

Today I got to teach at Kiah Hall’s boardroom where I installed my wall sculpture in 2012. It all felt very serious as we presented the project to a pretend client.

Re-rolling Inventory from ages ago. Including a skull portrait of the unnamable murderer bastard. May post them later in their stretched former glorious form.

And this is where Coralia now lives, next to fellow SCAD alumn Charles Clary. Love this botanical treasure in South Carolina.

Today. We did it. Huge thanks to my wife’s relentless determination, focus and unyielding stubbornness. Enjoying the feeling of accomplishment from tackling our assumed responsibility. Its all about tactical sacrifices and basic math.

Recent interview. When you think you know your own stuff, question surprise, bring back memories or make you go make more art.

Here is another “Multipede georginia”. Lucky to have cone across a couple of old branches from our ancient Azaleas. This specimen is about 29” long.

Photos from GERRY STECCA's post 05/26/2023

Fossilized “Multipede georginia”. With diet rich in fibers and iron, rising water levels affected them with rusty, slower limbs. Their demised deprived us of their living company, forcing us to miss them and honor them in this setting. This Spring, I picked up a couple of branches from an old antebellum museum and even Mississippi drift wood. Will need a new name for those!.

And off I go to for the next ARTventure. It will be a 2 days drive for these old gal and I. Show installation on Friday. Byeeeeeee!

And then it got even better!: after the excitement of receiving the Merit Award, we found out that the work sold to a collector. CORALIA will now live in . Honored, humbled, happy and tired. A valiant team effort thanks to my and the truly beautiful people of who for the eleventh year turned their home into a unique and welcoming art venue. Thank you .

Made it. Landed in Savannah and drove straight to Lake City, SC. Love the town, its people and their vision to turn it all onto an art venue.
