Meet Winnie - she lucked out and found a family who bottle raised her from 2 weeks of age until 4 weeks of age in the left photo The entire household took shifts feeding her through the night and around the clock to get her to survive , and even the other cats in the household have helped teach her social skills and bite inhibition.
She came back in at eight weeks old today to start her kitten vaccines and say hi ! She is quite fabulous !!
Spectrum is down and so are our phone lines. If you need assistance please come to the front door. If the phone lines don’t get fixed by 5:00 pm we open again tomorrow at 8:30. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Well we’re a little late posting about St. Patrick’s Day, but didn’t want to waste the chance to share a smile, some NAH lore, and hopes of spring as everyone digs out. 😁.
We have great clients , and one of mine for about the last 10 years has made it his personal mission to keep us smiling !
He routinely dresses “tube dude” for the holidays , and not wanting to miss a chance, did this before heading south LAST YEAR ! So keep your eyes peeled , you’re never quite sure how the dude will be decked out next…..
On the left, Zuri is modeling the latest fashion pajamas while in the hospital after emergency foreign body surgery last month. She bounced back in for her wellness visit today and brought smiles to everyone’s faces!
Dakota and our staff wanted to say good morning ! She is a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever for those who have never seen the breed. This look is her particular level of intensity all the time !!! 😁

Our Story
Dr. Ron Scharf received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the veterinary school at Cornell in 1985. He celebrated his 25th anniversary on June 12, 2010, in Ithaca with over 20 of his fellow classmates. He still loves practicing veterinary medicine and the opportunity it gives him to help animals and their owners.
Dr. Scharf bought the Friderici Animal Hospital in 1993 from Dr. Arthur Friderici. A veterinary hospital that has been accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association since 1946 -- one of only 10 veterinary hospitals in the country to be able to boast such an accomplishment -- speaks to Dr. Art's devotion to high quality veterinary care, and to that of his uncle, Dr. Ken Friderici, who established the hospital in 1936.
Dr. Scharf spent much of 1987 and 1988 studying with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and became accredited in veterinary acupuncture in 1988. He studied in Richard Pitcairn's Professional Course in Veterinary Homeopathy in 1999 and 2000 and was well-instructed in this therapeutic modality by one of the pre-eminent practitioners of complementary and alternative veterinary medicine in this country.
Dr. Scharf believes that there are many things we can do to help our pets' well-being and alleviate discomfort. It is good to be able to have more therapeutic modalities available to alleviate animals' suffering.
Dr. Ron believes in the importance of thorough nursing care in the delivery of health care. That "human touch" is critical and can often make the difference between success and failure in helping a dog or cat regain good health and comfort.
We enjoy getting feedback about the care that we work hard every day to give you and your pets. Please let us know how we are doing, and if you have anything you'd like to see done with our page.
