Wow! 🤩 Could this morning be any more beautiful? We’ll never get over the shop’s east-facing morning glow, and with a cup of coffee in hand, we can’t wait for the long weekend ahead. Feeling very lucky to live and work here and even luckier to share it all with you. Come say hi! Shop is open for our normal hours all weekend long, including the holiday Monday. 🙌
🌟 Friendly Friday Reminder! 🌟 House-made ice cream sandwiches, super delux BLTs, and all the best beverages are on our Evening Hours menu tonight from 5-9PM. 🍨🍪🍅 Come kick off your long weekend with us! 🍻
From our kitchen to your belly, we wish you a very happy, delicious Sunday! 🤤
Did you know we make the English muffins for our BEC from scratch in house? We also bake eggs, cream, salt, pepper, and one other secret ingredient in a water bath for perfect silky texture. We use thick-cut bacon, sharp white cheddar, and a totally secret house sauce on our breakfast sandwiches.
This recipe has been a staple on our menu from day one, and while we might neglect to talk about it very often, we certainly haven’t neglected the effort we put in to making trays and trays of BECs every day to keep our community fed and fueled! 😘
Tonight at 6:30PM will reveal the community-built Living Log sculpture that features felted mushrooms made by workshop participants over the past month! This sculpture is the culmination of her art program, Entangled Threads, which was inspired by the mycelium network and includes her own sculpture, as well as a number of opportunities to learn more about mushrooms and their fascinating lives.
On that note, tonight will also include the opportunity to share knowledge about fungi, foraging, cooking, and felting. Mallory will be at Arthur’s during our Evening Hours to connect with anyone who is interested in learning more about her work, who lead our foraging field trips will be in the house from 6:30-7:30PM to share his knowledge of foraging and eating mushrooms, and Arthur’s has all sorts of resources available (grow kits, dried cooking mushrooms, cookbooks, field guides, and .sheldrake’s book Entangled Life) in store.
So come join us! View ’s incredible installation! Pick ’s brain! Talk all things mushrooms. Find materials to continue your learning experience. And of course, enjoy great sips and bites, including our BLTs made with real bacon or ’s mycelium bacon!
Are you a supertaster? Have you ever wondered how to taste cheese, wine, chocolate, coffee, bourbon, or any other delicious food/beverage? Do you struggle to find the right words to describe what you’re tasting? And how does taste work anyway?
Guys, we are so, so lucky because , author of “How to Taste” and my personal tasting guru will be teaching her Flavor 101 class next Tuesday, August 27th at 6:30PM at Arthur’s.
All participants will have the chance to take a supertaster test to find out if they have the DNA of tasting masters. (I’m so afraid I’ll find out my tongue is a dud, haha!) Mandy will walk us through a guided tasting including some delicious cheese and beer. And she’ll be signing copies of her book “How to Taste,” which I’ve been reading, highlighting, and talking about to anyone who will listen for the past couple months.
So snag a $35 ticket at the link in our bio and come join us!!
