So many exciting things happening at Grand Canyon University! I'm blessed to be a part of the Grand Canyon University Colangelo College of Business (CCOB) Advisory Board. A couple of highlights from today's meeting that I just had to share~
* 400 acre campus is now home to over 26,000 students
* The CCOB has over 18,000 students - +7,000 on campus with 702 incredible faculty members
* Programs are being expanded with new bachelors in Economics, Sales & Marketing and Cyber Security
* Working to add programs to include Construction Management and Property Management

Beyond grateful to Mr. Colangelo for all his efforts to build our Business School and program. Thank you also to Brian Mueller for his vision and dedication to GCU. God is certainly at work at this school, with the students and in the community!

Fantastic event last week at the EEE conference in Los Angeles! So many amazing advancements from AI developed recipes and menus for restauranteurs to creative and innovative building designs. Met with fantastic concepts from mini golf, karaoke, arcades, virtual reality, pet inspired, all kinds of sporting venues, Netflix experiences and of course - pickle ball!! Entertainment Retail is growing quickly and furiously. Just love the innovation!! Look 👀 forward to next year!

Paying tribute to my dear friend and mentor ~ Sullivan who went to move in with Jesus a few weeks ago far too soon (for me!).

I had the blessing of meeting Laina when I launched my commercial real estate brokerage career. We had so much fun looking at site opportunities for her then company – Penguins Yogurt! She helped me learn how to make an incredible Tenant Rep Tour package. She was always my champion – encouraging me, challenging me, and mentoring me. She knew me as Carol Peterson (my maiden name), came to my wedding and helped me welcome my sons into the world. She followed my career and those of my family members. Laina gave of herself and her expertise in providing training sessions on franchising for my teams – she was the best!! She inspired me to obtain my CFE designation from the International Franchise Association. She wanted me to know more about my clients – their struggles, challenges and opportunities so that I could serve them better!! She knew how to take small companies from inception to brand leaders – companies like Supercuts, Yogurtland, T-Mobile, I-Sold it on eBay, Easyriders, Freeze Frame and Gloria Jean’s. Laina loved our franchise family, the IFA's Women's Franchise Network and all her work in the franchise world.

Thank you, sister, for your kindness, your inspiration, your prayers, your support as we watched out mothers age, your laughter, your business analysis, your movie reviews and your passion for life. I know God needed you in Heaven and called you home. Until we see each other again.

Just wrapped up an incredible week at the Western States ICSC Conference in sunny San Diego!

It was fantastic to reconnect with our current clients and meet some new faces, amidst a bustling crowd of 3,000 attendees. The atmosphere was electric, and there was buzz about the Arizona market's phenomenal growth.

The conference had a cautiously optimistic vibe, with attendees eager to explore opportunities in the Arizona market, despite facing some industry headwinds. The challenges we discussed included low vacancy rates, minimal new construction, and a dip in investment sales due to higher interest rates. Nevertheless, the silver lining was the persistent high tenant demand and robust activity in franchise concepts.

Exciting times ahead as we navigate these challenges and harness the opportunities in the commercial real estate landscape. Stay tuned for more updates on how we're making waves in this dynamic industry!

Reflecting on an Amazing Week at the 11th Annual WIRE (Women In Real Estate) Trip 🌟

Last week, I had the privilege of attending the 11th annual Women In Real Estate (WIRE) trip, and it was a transformative experience! Four days, 44 incredible women, and one stunning location at Brush Creek Ranch & Spa in Wyoming.

We engaged in diverse activities like horseback riding, fly fishing, shooting, yoga, poker, and hiking, pushing boundaries and forging unforgettable bonds.

But what truly stood out were the camaraderie and intentional networking among like-minded, supportive women. Women network differently, and at WIRE, it's all about uplifting each other.

In a world where collaboration and connection are paramount, WIRE has been a game-changer for me. Here's to many more years of empowering each other and making waves in real estate!✨

Last Thursday, our Arizona chapter of the Women's Franchise Network (WFN), a proud part of the International Franchise Association (IFA), hosted an incredible fall networking event titled "Novel Ideas."
