Solstice, derived from the Latin words sol, meaning “sun,” and sistere, meaning “to stand still”, summer solstice is the day when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky.

While usually designated as the start of summer, in Chinese Medicine, the solstice is the apex of Yang energy, towards which we have been slowly climbing since last year’s winter solstice.

In Chinese Medicine summer is associated with the Heart Meridian, the fire element, the color red, and the Southern direction. 🔥 ♥️ 🔥

This year’s solstice is made even more special because it is followed by the Strawberry Full Moon tomorrow, June 21 🍓🌕 🍓

Today’s powerful transition is an excellent time to harness your Yang energy. Practice Qigong, meditate, eat lightly, and rest to recharge your spirit and health.
