Wellness Summit is Danielle Lafata!

Danielle Lafata, a Registered Dietitian, is the Director of Performance Nutrition for the Arizona Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury, and a virtual personal dietitian through My Spot Dietitian for high school and club teams. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Central Michigan University and holds a master's degree in Nutrition and Food Science from Wayne State University. Danielle is a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, a Certified LEAP Therapist (food sensitivities) and is currently working on a Certificate of Training in Integrative and Functional Nutrition. Through her interests and use of micronutrient testing she has been a clinical consultant for Spectracell Laboratories helping various practitioners interpret micronutrient tests while simultaneously growing in her sports dietetics career. She spent 8 years with EXOS (formerly Athletes’ Performance, Inc.), an impressive 6 seasons with the San Francisco Giants, during which they won World Series Championship in 2012 and 2014, and three years with the US Men’s National Soccer Team as their head of Nutrition for the 2014 Brazil World Cup. She has a season with the Arizona Cardinals and the Arizona Coyotes as well as working with various military groups, youth athletes and high performers throughout her impressive career. When she’s not traveling with the basketball teams she likes to play pickleball, tennis, golf and take to the Arizona hiking trails.

The next speaker on our women’s health + fertility panel at the Kaleidoscope Juice Wellness Summit is Dr. Leila Turner!

With over 15 years of clinical experience, Dr. Turner is board certified in Naturopathic Endocrinology, and is president of the Endocrine Association of Naturopathic Physicians. She loves to connect the dots, identify the contributing underlying factors and works as a team with her patients to reverse chronic disease. As a student she co-founded the Naturopathic Medical Student Association and upon graduating from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) in 2007, she was awarded the SCNM Student Leadership Award and the Daphne Blayden Award in recognition of academic excellence, compassion, and perseverance. Dr. Turner was awarded a 2-year residency in women’s health and general medicine at SCNM Medical Center, followed by an Assistant Professorship for the Department of Clinical Sciences at SCNM, where she played an integral role in the development of the revised curriculum. She founded Living Wellness Medical Center where she treats patients, runs a residency program; and in 2011 she was awarded the SCNM Alumni Award. In 2021 she founded The Docere Center where she coaches new and experienced doctors through an entrepreneurial business coaching program.

Laura is the CEO and Co-Founder of Reformed Pilates, a pilates studio that provides a contemporary approach to the classic elements of reformer pilates. She started Reformed in 2013 and has grown it to 8 locations in Phoenix. Laura received her BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California. She is passionate about brand management and building businesses for scale.

Dr. Olivia Watkins is a Naturopathic physician passionate about inspiring and nurturing healing through patient education and preventative care. She specializes in Women’s health and gastrointestinal conditions. Her aim is to empower and educate my patients to take control of their health. She dedicates herself to patient-centered care using holistic medicine that treats the cause of illness, restores health, and preserves vitality. Outside of work, Dr. Watkins enjoys Latin dance, yoga, enjoying good food, and spending time with her family.

Julia is a Performance Dietitian in her second season with the Houston Rockets! She worked for the Chicago Cubs for 8 years, with 2 of those years as the head of their Nutrition Department. Julia did her Dietetic Internship and got her Masters in Professional Practices of Dietetics from Iowa State University, and received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics from Arizona State University.

Nikki is the owner and founder of BODI. She is a Certified Personal Trainer, Mike Boyle Certified Functional Strength Coach, and fitness nutrition specialist. Nikki was a Nike Master Trainer for 8 years and the 2015 Women’s Health magazine’s “Next Fitness Star” and also a Coach for Tonal, the worlds smartest home gym.
