It has been a hot hot minute. I closed the store for a remode August 1st 2023.

Guess what…. I am back.

Today, I opened my doors wide open. As I was opening those doors and putting my sandwich boards out, I was filled with fear of judgement. However, I still did it.

So how did it go?

Today, was the Lakecity Summer festival. I stragecially choose this day to reopen Thriftology. I closed down Thriftology for my remodel 1 year ago on August 1st 2023. Then life happened. It had a better plan. I obeyed l. I am so glad I did.

Dude, nothing went as planned. Life happened. Life wasn’t lifeing.

Today is August 3rd 2024, I reopen Thriftology. On my own terms at the universe desired timing. The synchronized rhythm had to be a match. I trusted the process. I worked with my spiritual guides and the universe.

As soon as I opened my doors, the public came in. So many folks came
in. It was all about community. Damm, I so much missed my community. It was not about sales today but the reassuring questions of where I have been. It genuinely warmed my soul.

Doubt hits me…. Imposter syndrome checks in.

I overcome it because of the immense love love that surrounds me.

The universe answers me with ….

My very good and trusted friend reassured me of my efforts. Imposter syndrome died. This is my person. I love her to death. My H you are my person.

My clients tickled in…. Oh men…. It was awesome beyond my wildest dreams. At one point I had over 30 people in my space asking me and my 10 years old daughter questions. We winged it. We managed it. I am so thankful. Beyond greatful❤️👏🏿👏🏿

I am a bold, voluptuous girl almost in her 50… doing 18 hour shifts I. My shop is love and community. It’s so much love embroidered in all I do.

Today, I had a client from California. He had a deaf friend. He prayed with me. He blessed me with his purchase. Most of all we fellowishiped. I felt all that priceless good energy. I am too blessed. Freaking so grateful.

Then there was my Sudanese brother. Oh he was magic. This one was God sent, he spoke to my soul.This is my second encounter with him. Extremely happy!!!! I am soo blessed. Thank you universe.

Then there was a long time friend. Let’s call her M. To me she is a saint. Her presence always reassures me of the love and unity in the world. I don’t get to see her a lot. But I always know she got my back.

Oh then there was the little girl she came earlier on and promised she would come back after the Lake city parade. And Oh yes, she came back. I did not even have the energy to sell her the stuffy she wanted . She remained me the power of keeping your word. Me and her have her bond.

People, I am so blessed, too blessed. I have cried. Thank you all so much!!! Tons and tons of love!!!

Wins, trials and triumphs! Vulnerability loading…

Last year, I received the communication we had to move. Deadline was July 31st 2023. Then I started looking for a space, the ideal retail space I found was 50,000 a month. That conversation was not an uncomfortable conversation and it ended before it could proceed. However, the dude was a cool dude. I like cool people.

Few months later, Luck came knocking. We could stay in the current space under new favorable terms. This meant expansion and I could finally get ALL the stuff out of both storages to the shop.

August 2023, was a difficult month for me, both personally and for my business. I lost personally. I made a lot of mistakes. I mourned. I regretted. I encountered people. I underestimated my physical potential, expansion funding and duration. Continuous rejection happened. Nothing went as planned. I was distraught. Mental health is real. I shutdown and turned it all off. You see, I am a happy go lucky person, pressure really ain’t my forte.

New month and I am still alive…So, I am back to the drawing board and asking myself how to re-open the store ASAP. When you are calm, at peace and approach the issue with love, you will find a solution. It all lies within you. I have learned so much, I should do an online Masterclass!!

What is the game plan???? I have decided to have a huge SALE in my storage which is right next to the store. Clothes and household goods. The Sale will happen Thursday 9/7, Friday 9/9, Saturday 9/10 and Sunday 9/11. 10am to 5pm.

This is a reminder for anybody going through a hard time. I wish you peace and calm. I wish you figure it out. Please do not give up. Today, I remember the people who came before me and my Ancestors. I remember all they sacrificed so I could be. I remember my daughters and any woman in business or wishing to be in business, it can be done. Keep your head up, the sky has a better view! Keep smiling even when you feel all the darkness inside you.

I have been thinking about time in relation to what is a best use of my time and my perspective.

What if we could use creativity to reinvent the clock and in the process reclaim my life? Finally do the things I want to do and not need to do?

For me, it deliberately starts today with this treat for breakfast. Ordinary and normal won’t cut it anymore!!!!

Also, will I be wearing today’s OOTD to comedy night, happening at the Heartspace today evening from 7.30pm? Or will you be?

A very good friend took a 6 week Sabbatical.
My very good friend is an Executive Director in a very vital organization in our community.
She travelled. She took a cruise that landed her in France. In France, she met with our very good friend. This two ladies were living the France dream in the dreamy cottage. They sent me pictures. I was in awe and admiration❤️.

She just got back. She came to see me this past Saturday. She wanted a chair. A chair to seat on as she paints. She found her perfect $15 chair.

I noticed she was different. The skin on her face looked softer. Her hair had color, playful purple. Her smile was wider. Her hug was encompassing. Her eyes were wide,clear and bright. She was the personification of joy.

Why do we do things the way we do? Do we dare to do? In this life are we surviving or living? How brave can you be to do the things that bring more meaning to YOUR life????

WHAT IF…. I am choosing to be mentally in France with my two very good friends. In my mind, I will be wearing any or both of this OOTD as I leisurely tour the streets and fall in love with the architecture of the buildings. Why? Because parce que pourquoi pas!!!
