Asking locals throughout Scandinavia to explain what the word Hygge meant to them was in short, beautiful. The looks always got dreamy, usually a smile. I could see snapshots of childhood nostalgia in their eyes. My favorite explanation of the cozy word was, "If contrasts had a feeling". A hygglig home in winter is its own thing. Chilly mornings with a hot cup of coffee by the fire, a view of a dark starry night outside of your candlelit living room, a rowdy game night with friends as silent snow falls, a warm bath with a cold beer listening to Christmas songs.. just me? Whatever your delight this holiday season, l'd love to hear about it!

New year, same clutter? That’s okay. I took a short break this winter to be my own client, for this very reason. Yes, even professional home organizers need to make time to take their own advice. How’s your morning flow? Do you have a good routine? How’s your energy level? Are you getting enough sleep? What about your evening wind down process, are you making time for you? How are you refilling that cup?

This is your friendly reminder; I am more than your home organizer, I am your advocate. Your personal cheerleader.

Letting go of things can sometimes be heavy before it can feel lighter, and that’s hard to prioritize. Let me help you bear the weight. Sure you can do it yourself, absolutely. We are all stronger than we think, when we actually make time for ourselves. The question is, how long have you been saying you will get to it?

A storage unit filled with home furnishings of a deceased loved one. A closet full of clothes that don’t fit anymore. Moving into a smaller apartment after a divorce. Going through an attic of memorabilia so you can get your house on the market. All those thoughtful gifts you were given that you just don’t know what to do with, or have room for anymore. That junk drawer, you know the one, you use it everyday and it causes stress everyday.

It is my greatest joy to be the person you call when you need help with these things. The holidays are a busy time of year, and for many, magical. I also know this time of year can be really hard. Let’s make the most of a rainy day and let me shine a little light in your home.

I had an 11-year-old client today and man, what a delight. She started out a little hesitant to give anything away (being between Barbie’s and makeup can do that) but she quickly found her groove, sharing stories with me about her treasures from her younger days, then feeling ready to let it go. Plus, she forgot how much she missed being able to dance in her room. ☺️

I often find that kids don’t mind picking up their room, it’s when they don’t have a home for things that the overwhelm takes over and under the bed it goes.

With school right around the corner, and sports and activities to balance, it’s important our kids feel like they have a space they can relax in, and recharge.

It doesn’t have to be perfect. Sometimes just a tidy open floor, a little T-Swift, and twirling around their room without a care in the world can be more than enough.

I’m back from my trip to Scandinavia! AND came home to great news! I passed my exam and I'm now officially a ‘Certified’ Professional Home Organizer through NAPO (the National Association of Productivity & Organizing). YES, that’s a thing!

With a CPO you can feel confident that you’re hiring someone that has worked a minimum of at least 1,500 paid hours, signed a Code of Ethics agreement, and passed a surprisingly rigorous exam heavily based on scenarios to make sure I’m qualified to take the best care of you, my friend.

“Let’s go take a fika”, my favorite Swedish tradition yet. It’s much more than making a pit-stop just long enough to caffeinate yourself before hurrying onward with your day. It's about taking time out of your day to relax, have a bread, and socialize in a cozy space.

I got to fika with a local Home Organizer certified in the Konmari method, Delfina .reborn and her lovely friend Christina. Hours went by easily as I got to learn all about the Scandinavian home, as well as a history lesson.❤️I just love it here.

Wow wow WOW! What an incredible start to Talagom Home Organization! You've kept me busy every single day since the launch and I am over the moon with joy for how well the projects have turned out so far!! I can't thank you all enough for the tremendous support and for sharing the love by passing me along for those referrals. I am learning the balance of social media, and giving my new clients my undivided attention, but you can bet your butt you'll be hearing more from me via my blog when I head to Scandinavia next week!
