At home with :Nota Bene for Father’s Day we cooked Green Egg’s Asian pork rib recipe on an improvised rib rack that worked really well. 3.5 hours at 300 F but worth the wait.

A special thanks to our neighbors Stephen and Sharon cooking Sunday night dinner after a long weekend of tasting our 2021 wines at :Nota Bene.

“Drank a fine red out of our championship trophy this morning.” Our son Ryan is referring to a :Nota Bene wine obscured in Northwest fire light when his hurling team as in the Gaelic sport similar to lacrosse won the Cascade Cup yesterday. Congratulations Ryan and to the team!

Seattle Urban Wineries Washington State Wine

We are so sad to share the news of the death of Steve Hulsman in a bicycling accident last Thursday, 12/21, in West Seattle south of the Fauntleroy terminal. He was a good friend and Wine Club Founder at :Nota Bene Cellars, generous with the fruits of his garden as shown by the wonderful tulips he brought to the winery. Steve was as serious with his wine tasting as he was with his cycling. He would arrive at the winery late in the day on our 2nd Saturday tasting days and share stories of his bike trips earlier in the day.

Our hearts go out to his family.

We will miss his stories, his good nature, and his company.
