We were in the news!
You may know that one of Husky Health Center’s services is passing out free safer s*x supplies like condoms. You may not know that condom use is actually trending downward among 15-24 year olds around the country. 📉
We were honored to get a chance to speak about the phenomenon in a video with the and share our perspective as a student health center for an article titled “Condoms aren’t a fact of life for young Americans. They’re an afterthought” published on October 2nd, 2024.

Olympics fun fact in honor of last night’s Closing Ceremonies:
The Husky Health Center is located in the David C. Hall Building. Born in 1875, David C. Hall ran the 800m race in the 1900 Olympics (which also happened to be in Paris!). 🇫🇷
🏃🏻♂️Half way through the race and on his way to winning gold, his old-timey cleats got tangled up with another runner and one flew off of his foot.
🥉Despite the setback, he still walked away with a bronze medal (and one fewer shoe)!
🚑Coach Hall later served as a track and basketball coach at the University of Washington from 1908-1914. During WWI, Dr. Hall organized an ambulance unit of over 100 UW students and doctors on the front in Italy, and was decorated by the French and Italian government for this service.
⚕️As a professor of hygiene, Hall established the first student health service at the UW in 1919, and continued to manage and develop the service for decades. Today, the Husky Health Center, housed in the David C. Hall Building, is proud to continue providing high-quality healthcare and to grow to meet the future needs of the UW student community.
🎉Congratulations to the UW community members who were involved in the 2024 Games!
