Blood Handsome is the Los Angeles-based darkwave project of Gerren Reach - since debuting he's continued to forge a path of his own. Having extensively toured the US and shared stages with acts such as Kontravoid, Buzz Kull, The Soft Moon, Twin Tribes, Actors, Spike Hellis, Geneva whirlpool bath and more, 2022's album 'A New Calm' solidified the project's stamp on the genre.

We just hit 100 subs on the new Strict Tempo YouTube channel in the first week, thank you! Now in the archives, the set from Portland synth-punk duo Xibling's EP release party from the April 23, 2020 edition of the show.

The new Twitch DJ program is fully launching in a week and is absolutely terrible for DJs representing indie music and the artists they play as well. There's no way I'll play from a pre-selected catalogue and forfeit creativity and the art of selection. Amongst many other horrors in these new terms- just yikes! Looks like I'll only be using that channel to stream games going forward, just as I am about to hit 10k followers. It feels crazy Twitch did not survey its creators while making any of these new rules.

While I hope to place continued emphasis on live shows and touring, I'll likely soon be bringing some streams back to Mixcloud (with VOD uploads to YouTube still), so give my pages there a follow if you haven't already! I've been uploading mixes there for a full decade now and have seen #1 chart placements in about 25 different genre charts, in everything from hardcore techno to world music; in 2019 I was also shortlisted for the Mixcloud Online Radio Awards for Best Online Show - Rock/Alternative.

They've always been good to me and I'm definitely team Mixcloud, if anyone is having any doubts. The Select program I participated in the launch for in 2019, also splits creator revenue, platform fees and artists' royalties - the charges to DJs Twitch is now adding have been built into Mixcloud's monthly subscription system for several years already.

Fellow DJs who have used Mixcloud Live before, or fans of Twitch streams, which features do you wish Mixcloud had?

For me, the interactive chat features of Twitch and custom emojis, would make it much better. Interactive platforms like StreamElements or StreamLabs for alerts, chatbot and added moderation tools/chat filters would also be welcome. You do have to have a paid Pro account to stream on the platform, which I think could deter some people just getting started, too. What are your thoughts?
