How do you tap into your inner wisdom and โ€˜show upโ€™ in class? Weโ€™ve rounded up our top 3 ways to do the work:

โ˜† Before you get in the studio or start an online workout, ask yourself why youโ€™re doing it.
Need time to yourself? Are your muscles telling you theyโ€™re craving movement? Wanting to connect with your community? The reasons are endlessโ€”and theyโ€™re all valid. Your reason is your own, and that is enough.

โ˜† Be mindful of sensations in your body.
When your mind starts to wander, try to bring awareness to parts of your body that are talking to you. Label the feelings. โ€œMy glutes are on fire.โ€ โ€œMy right hamstring is tighter than my left.โ€ โ€œMy breathing is shallowโ€”letโ€™s try a few deep breaths.โ€ This is a judgement-free zone. Donโ€™t judge your experience, but notice and label it.

โ˜† Remember, youโ€™re surrounded by a community that has also decided to show up. Keep the focus on your experience in class, but share a smile with those that have showed up with you.
Recent studies have shown that exercising in groups can benefit you more than a solitary sweat sesh. Why not maximize the camaraderie and acknowledge the shared experience? Yes, everyone takes their own journey through class, but we are all in this together.

Stacie Thomasโ€™ journey began in 2014 when she stepped into The Barre Code Lakeview in Chicago as a client. Instantly captivated by the practice, she decided to take a chance and audition to become an instructor.

Dear barre3 Seattle community,

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we will be temporarily closing our doors as of Monday, March 16th. We remained hopeful that we could move forward with continuing to serve our community, but with the health and safety of our clients and team members as our number-one priority, we have made the difficult choice to close. As many of you know, we are a small, local, independently owned business with families and loved ones to consider, just like you do. We cannot thank you enough for the outpouring of love you give us every day. We will all emerge stronger together, and will work hard to reopen as soon as safely possible.

We also know that in a time when staying healthy is paramount, maintaining a regular exercise practice is more important than ever. Despite our doors being closed temporarily, we are still committed to providing you with access to remarkable barre3 classes online. Barre3 online can be accessed for FREE for 15 days by going to barre3.com/redeem and entering BARRE3HOMEBODY. Our online classes range from 10-60 minutes, and also include guided breath work, foam rolling, postnatal, etc. that can be done from the comfort of your home. After all, exercise has been shown to boost your immune system, reduce stress, and strengthen your heart and lungs -- all key in light of current events.

If you do have any urgent questions about your account, please reach out to our team by emailing our managers [email protected] ( Roosevelt) or [email protected] (Capitol Hill), or feel free to contact our studio owner at [email protected], and we will reply as quickly as possible. Our managers will be reaching out regarding memberships, so stay tuned! Otherwise please know that our entire team is working hard to keep as connected as possible during this trying time.
