Huge congratulations to C*C member David Linger who crossed the finish line of the Global Solo Challenge on April 21st at 2:03 local time. David spent 175 days racing his Class 40, Koloa Maoli and finished 6th place! It is an outstanding achievement for David who was certainly pleased to have arrived. The magnitude of his achievement will take time to sink in and right now he can celebrate with his girlfriend Lillian, his siblings and friends. Visibly thinner than when he left, he has a rather rough last week at sea with lots of upwind sailing and boat slamming. His arrival though was in nice conditions and a beautiful sunshine. Well done David! Love the C*C burgee on the back of that beautiful boat!!
Congratulations to the Maiden team! What an incredible achievement for these women!!

🏆MAIDEN WINS THE OCEAN GLOBE RACE 2023-24
On Tuesday 16 April 2024, in a brisk northerly breeze the iconic yacht and her young all female crew from around the world crossed the finishing line at 1152hrs completing the 4th and final leg of the Ocean Globe Race. Seven months away from home; sailing over 28,500 nm and 154 days at sea making more Maiden history 35 years after Tracy Edwards, Maiden and her all female crew proved women sailors were as good as any male sailor in the 89/90 Whitbread Race.
The last leg was a difficult and frustrating one for Maiden, not the longest leg in miles but the longest time at sea during the whole race with the leg ranking 5th in line honours and provisional 5th in IRC with corrected elapsed time. With all legs combined, until earlier this morning (Monday 22 April) Maiden held 2nd place overall. Their closest rival Triana who were in 1st place needed to finish around 0600hrs today to retain their lead, which they did not manage to do; with the IRC overall lead Maiden is the winner of the Ocean Globe Race 2023-2024 - an awesome achievement.
Maiden’s legacy will live on – during the six year World Tour Maiden has continued the battle for equality for the next generation empowering and inspiring thousands of girls; raising awareness and funds for charities and communities around the world to ensure that girls have access to education whatever their background to enable them to follow their dreams and build better futures.

Spring season kickoff party was a huge success! We love when our clubhouse is full of members, friends, family and sailors. We had over 100 people enjoy tonight’s festivities and it was so great to see new members and new sailors able to connect.

Racing is impossible without the incredible work of the race committee team. Here at C*C Seattle we are committed to providing sailors with the best racing experience on the water and ensuring our volunteers are well equipped in safety and fairness.
Today we hosted a training day for our volunteer race committee assist and mark set drivers. Charley Rathkopf led a classroom seminar for those interested in race management. Geoff Pease and Bob Combie led a seminar on mark boat operation and whaler driving. Then they headed out and got time practicing setting a course and running races.
Big thanks to the J105 fleet and the Star fleet for participating in our practice races. It was a beautiful day for a sail on the sound!
C*C Seattle works hard to ensure safety, fairness and fun for all participants. Thank you to all the volunteers who make our races possible! Want to get involved? Website linked in our profile
