Ah, my creative genius from seven years ago is finally getting recognition from Twitter. LOL

I've never seen these photos before. So cool! The 300th anniversary of a terrible day but the clan rebuilt the beautiful castle that has inspired me and many others.

300 years ago today, Eilean Donan was destroyed in one of the minor Jacobite uprisings, which led to the Battle of Glenshiel, one of the last battles on British soil. We commemorate the event this weekend with the Clan MacRae International Gathering and a number of events.
In remembering that destruction, my mind is also drawn to those men and women who rebuilt the castle and brought this beautiful phoenix from the ashes.........

I went to pick up a couple books at the library last night and got sucked into the Friends of the Library bookshelf where you can buy books for cheap. They get me every time. I seriously can't keep myself from buying books.
