The Strad's Thomas May tells the wonderful story behind Ani Aznavooria's cello as part of his coverage of our Summer Festival! 📰 https://bit.ly/4dIjiTT

“Meanwhile, Aznavoorian showed off her cello’s capacity to voice yearning as well as to take part in robust, quasi-symphonic ensemble in performances of two works by Robert Schumann: the Adagio and Allegro, Op. 70, and the Piano Quintet… A true musical feast”

Seattle Chamber Music Society

Seattle Chamber Music Society has been providing world class chamber music performances for over 35 years with two Festivals each season at the Ilsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall at Benaroya Hall.

The Winter Festival takes place every January over the course of two weekends and features six performances. The Summer Festival occurs in July on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings throughout the month with a total of 12 concerts. Both Festivals feature free Pre-Concert Recitals that begin 1-hour before the main performance.

Both Festivals offer a number of free events from informal conversations with musicians to working rehearsals to see how artists bring the music to life.

There is also a Seattle Chamber Music Society/Classical KING-FM 98.1 Family Concert that is a delightful way to introduce children to the joys of music. These concerts are perfectly suited for 5-10 year olds and their families. Before each performance a musical instrument ‘petting zoo’ takes place in the lobby.
