Applied for the Trademark

Corresponded with the "people" for Dr. Mary Claire Haver (author of The Galveston Diet and The New Menopause) -- and I hope she'll be one of several awesome keynote speakers

Will be speaking with the Seattle Convention Center this week to pencil out the costs and everything involved with hosting a 2-day summit (keynote speakers, up to 50+ breakout rooms/speakers/topics) + 140 pop-up vendor booths)

***I THINK THE SUMMIT WILL BE IN SEPT OR OCT 2025, TBD**

TRADESHOW/VENDOR BOOTHS: 10x10 or larger booths. PRICE: $ TBD -- looking for women-owned business/brands or companies/brands selling to the women's market. We are NOT accepting MLM brands.

BREAKOUT SESSIONS/ROOMS: There are ~56 break out rooms between 2 floors of the (new) Summit building of the Seattle Convention Center. This means 56+ experts, educators, authors, speakers, healers, influencers, designers, etc. can book a room ALL day and host your talk or activity, etc. every hour on the hour in your room, or....partner up with another business and share the cost of the room. Capacity per room is ~100-130 people, theatre style. But you could do anything in your room (yoga or other health/wellness classes, beauty services, lectures, book readings/signings, photography, etc. If you're a lecturer/speaker and you have an item or service to sell, you can do this in your room too. Price: $TBD

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS: I've already started to contact speaker bureaus (Melinda Gates is I guess not accepting any more/new speaking engagements :( if anyone knows her personally let me know.) These will be paid gigs, but..... the speaker has to have a big following/these are the major draw to be able to sell 2,000+ tickets! We can discuss if a keynote speaker is appropriate for you or if you would be best served buying a break out room and hosting sessions.

I WILL NEED HELP WITH GETTING CORPORATE $$ SPONSORS! If this is something you love to do and are good at it, DM me and we'll discuss.

This is a pie in the sky goal/dream, and I'm going for it...let's hope I can make it happen. I will need your support and encouragement...recs to awesome brands and companies.

CALLING ALL WOMEN:

What speakers would you be interested (and pay $$) to see/hear/learn more/be inspired by at a women's conference?

KEY NOTE SPEAKER: these are the big guns, it will cost a lot to get someone of this caliber (think: big following, "famous")

BREAK OUT SPEAKERS: these women and men, might be local (Seattle area) or at least on the west'ish coast (so aifare, etc. is not as expensive)

TOPICS: What topics are you most interested in?

I'm thinking this conference/summit would include:

*amazing key note speaker(s)

*friday night dinner/get together mix & mingle featuring women-made wines/spirits/NA brands + chefs

*Sat & Sun are the conference and tradeshow - includes the key note big time speakers as well as break out sessions throughout the day in smaller rooms/groups and a tradeshow of 100+ pop-up shops/businesses/brands

This is just a dream in my head now, hoping to make it a reality in 2025.

"When things get tough, I take a step back and look at how far I have come. All the tiny wins add up, and I am definitely not the same person I used to be. Creating my own business by scratch has made me leave my comfort zone and do things that I would have never imagined I could do."

"My aha moment was when I had to go to the ER for workplace stress. At that moment, I realized that my job was affecting my mental and physical health. That's when I made the impulsive decision to change my life. I left my job and started researching how to start a business, then slowly began to work on the skills I needed to start. It's been a learning experience, but I am grateful every day that I have the opportunity to work on my dreams!"

The idea was planted and I started my Mobile Coffee Cart business in 2021."

We want them to know that they can experience financial freedom at the highest level and at the same time be able to protect what they’ve worked so hard to earn."

What's your best selling offer/service? How does it work?

"My best offer is the Ultimate Life Insurance Playbook Masterclass.

I show women;
The various types of life insurance for life and business, and their benefits.
Strategies to grow their wealth portfolio
How they can retire peacefully and be assured of multigenerational wealth by leveraging life insurance."

What's your best advice for our readers and followers?

"It may seem counterintuitive but putting yourself out there and asking for help can actually be a great sign of strength. Asking someone else for help doesn’t mean you are weak or incapable—it means that you have taken care of yourself to the point where you know what you need, and have created space to allow others into your life. This is an act of self-care and love that should be celebrated."

When things get tough, what keeps you going?

"My driving force behind almost everything I do is my son, Arlo. As a single mom who started a business all on my own it's a delicate balance between work & home life & to be honest, it can be quite messy at times. When I feel overwhelmed & stressed, my son is my motivation that keeps me going. It's so important to me that he sees a mom who is not only a present happy mother but also someone who is a strong & independent woman who is pursuing & living out their own dreams too."

Share with us your "Aha" moment.

"My Aha moment happened quite a long time before I was able to physically open my coffee truck. Most people don't know that I worked & lived in Cambodia for years working with women & children in an anti-human trafficking organization. Once I moved back to the U.S. I wanted to continue making a difference & helping others. My long time passion for coffee fused with my passion to help others & the idea of a mobile coffee company was born. Our story is in the name, Brighter Days Coffee. Our goal has always been to brighten people's lives wherever. Sometimes this looks simple, like fun drinks with quirky names that make customers smile, but at other times it's raising money so we can set up & serve local teacher's free of charge or donating a percentage of proceeds to organizations making a difference in areas close to our hearts like the NAACP or the Maternal Mental Health Alliance. My advice to any aspiring entrepreneur is to never put yourself in a box. You don't have to choose one passion over another, it doesn't have to be "either" "or" it can be "both" "and" find a way to fuse your passions to create something beautifully new & unique to you!"

A Song that Best Describes Your Life.

"Oceans by Hillsong United. This song has inspired me to jump into the deep end and keep walking forward even when I feel like I'm downing in the unknown and unforeseeable. It found me in my darkest and scariest moments in life and has been a beacon of hope and reminder that we aren't in this thing alone, we are SO much stronger and more capable than we give ourselves credit for."

When things get tough, what keeps you going?

"Remembering where I started! It's humbling and encouraging at the same time– knowing that I started with very little knowledge and experience, yet I'm still in it 7 years later. I'm also learning to take more creative breaks and I'm excited to start taking myself on "artist dates" where I pick a cool cafe, brewery, outdoor space... whatever, and just create, whether I'm sketching, doodling, or working on a personal project."

Meet today's Jaclyn Gordyan founder of Jaclyn Gordyan Painter, Artist & Texturist. She's a texturist, painter and artist. Her art is influenced heavily by organic textures, shapes and natural elements. Her goal is to highlight what about the natural element stopped her originally. So that through her work, she can give you the same permission to pause she felt. Maybe feel some of that same wonder. And if a piece of her work you bring into your home sparks this, and gets you curious about other moments in nature you could see, then she achieved her mission.

______________

When things get tough, what keeps you going?

"Trusting myself and letting people in. I first have to feel whatever feels I am feeling. It's essential for me to process first so I can understand what I need. And I let people in on what's happening. That creates space and support where I need it so I know I am never alone. And from there I act from a place of confidence and not fear."

Share with us your "Aha" moment.

"I've had a few. But the 'aha' moment for starting my art career and business was a spring night in 2020. A month into the pandemic. We had friends quarantining with us. And we decided to paint. I wasn't excited about it at first. It felt fussy and I was afraid I wouldn't know what I wanted to do. But the moment we opened the gesso... my artist self, a part of me I had forgotten about, came screaming out. Any fear I had was gone because I was creating. I felt alive deep in my bones for the first time in decades. I could no longer deny my soul needed this. It needed to be an artist."

A Song that Best Describes Your Life.

""Lovely Day" by Bill Withers. I consider myself an optimist generally, but I feel I am only able to be an optimist because of the grounding forces and people in my life. This song joyfully underscores the idea of being centered into sharp focus for me."

Meet today's Lendy, Katy & Shana founders of . Bite society started over 30(+) years in the food industry that taught them to love two things: bringing people together and sharing the Perfect Bite. They explored others’ delicious ideas too, gradually building a community of culinary craftsmen, makers, and dreamers who shared their goal of reuniting folks with food. In the end they created a catalogue of hand curated perfect bites, each unique, shareable, and ready to be devoured.

When things get tough, what keeps you going?

"When we have a slow sales week, it’s fairly easy to get down on yourself, and start questioning things. In those moments I like to take inventory of all of the products we have created, recipes perfected, and basket collections made. We have truly accomplished so much in a short period of time, given the obstacles created by a global pandemic!"

Share with us your "Aha" moment.

"In the very early days when we were trying to define our logo and overall image, we hired a fancy branding firm to help us achieve our vision. We worked through some initial concepts with them, but nothing really clicked for us. Then during a long dog walk, Lendy had a thought….she discussed it with us later that day, and that evening we posted ads for tattoo artists. Since we were out of work due to the pandemic, we knew that tattoo artists would also be looking for opportunities. We hired a handful to do some initial designs, then settled with an artist who was able to pull all of the designs together into a cohesive look. Tattoo art on tins that hold our house made foods is what defines Bite Society as a unique, modern take on gift baskets."

A Song that Best Describes Your Life.

"Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey. Back in our catering days we would sing karaoke at our annual holiday party. Don’t Stop Believing was the last song we would sing as a group at the end of every party. It was an easy song to sing along to and bond with our co-workers. Now the lyrics hold a different meaning for us. We are never going to stop believin’ in our products and each other. We are in it to win it, and we are making gift baskets cool."

Meet today's feature Joye Jackson 💕

Learn more about her:

What is your company's mission?

"Speaking of Joye was created to encourage women to unleash the power within and walk in their God-given purpose. Although each purpose is different, it is very necessary to see the change we desire in our communities, in our homes, and in our lives."

What's your best selling offer/service? How does it work?

"My best selling offer is my coaching program, Joy for the Journey. The program is offered as a one-on-one or group coaching experience that explores the Speaking of Joye Star Coaching Methodology. During our time together, we uncover our client's core values. These values are the foundation for identifying our purpose and developing practical strategies to live within that purpose. Upon completion of the program, our clients are equipped with personal mission, vision and value statements, as well as a strategic plan to take action toward becoming the women that God wants them to be."

What's your best advice for our readers and followers?

They were carefully crafted by God to be victorious, a game-changer, and an influencer. Every circumstance, tear, victory and setback is a part of their story. So embrace the journey, and be willing to take the first step toward becoming the women they were created to be!"

When things get tough, what keeps you going?

"The older I get, the more I realize every single person struggles with something at some point in their life. It’s a part of being human. So when things get tough — I try to remember that. Hard times shape you and help you grow as a person. Find things that excite you to get through them! Crafting has become my true outlet for this. I’m so grateful I am able to make a business out of the thing that makes me happiest."

Share with us your "Aha" moment.

"Truthfully, I have “Aha” moments with every new item I make. I never think products will turn out the way I imagine… so when they do, I shock myself. I am a self taught wood worker and constantly say “I can’t believe I built this” to every thing I make. I think having a little doubt can be a good thing sometimes. It allows that proud feeling to keep coming back — which ultimately creates confidence and keeps me wanting to try new things!"

______________

When things get tough, what keeps you going?

"For over a decade I dealt with immobility from MS. Trying to come to terms with the fact that my life may not entail immobile was difficult. My children and my husband of 27 years were my strength to keep fighting. In 2018 a new medicine was introduced for MS and I slowly regained my mobility and life back. Now as a business owner ( which is still odd for me to say) waking up everyday and walking is a blessing! But to now wake up everyday and have the bonus blessing of being a business owner is what keeps me going."

Share with us your "Aha" moment.

"My Aha Moment is realizing how much I really enjoyed making natural skin care products. I was baker prior to soap making. When I decided to give soap making a try I was extremely nervous.
