6 Tips For Emotional Immunity
In addition to physical immunity, our well-being hinges upon our ability to cultivate and strengthen our mental/ emotional/psychological immune system.
Our cells vibrate at the level of thought. What we think on a moment to moment basis affects every part of our life. In a time of unprecedented challenges, we must strengthen our minds.
Psychological Immunity includes emotional resilience, self-reliance, emotional integrity, developing the witness attitude, or detachment from the stories we keep telling ourselves, and improving emotional intelligence.
Emotional resilience is our ability to stay present and deal with difficult situations with awareness.
Self-reliance is the ability to remain centered in one's awareness and remain present regardless of external factors in our immediate or distant proximity.
Our emotional integrity is simply the ability to tune in and feel on a deep level what our underlying emotions are. Awareness of our emotions allows us to be present with them and deal with them in a conscious way.
Becoming a witness or having detachment is essential to create a peaceful and contented life. Having detachment means not identifying with whatever external turmoil is happening. Watching the situations as if we are watching a movie on the screen. This is what is meant by determining what is Self and not Self. If we can become a detached witness, we will be able to manage any situation in life with clarity and effectiveness.
Emotional intelligence is our foresight in being able to determine or foresee how emotions will play out in any given scenario. With emotional intelligence we can, like an actor, play the role that is most suitable to any situation and consciously contribute to the most favorable outcome.
Ayurveda & Yoga give clear, concise tools to be balanced in all levels of Psychological Immunity.
1. Meditation
Develop a meditation routine. Be disciplined. Make an intention to meditate at the same time, for the same duration every day. This will give the mind the freedom to relax and surrender.
2. Mantra Japa
Mantra Japa is the repetition of sacred sounds or affirmations to create a powerful change in our consciousness. Follow the breath and the mantra deep into every cell of the body. You can chant a mantra like Om Namah Shivaya. If Sanskrit is not your thing, you can repeat, “I Am Love; I Am Light”. Set a time to do this daily. Mantra is often a good way to slip into meditation.
3. Exercise
Hatha Yoga (Asana and Pranayama), Qi Kung, Tai Qi, Martial arts, surfing, or any other exercise you can easily enter into a “flow” state.
4. Nature
Spend time outdoors every day. Nature is our Mother and Her embrace is comforting and rejuvenating to the body, heart and mind.
5. Sattvic Foods
Eat pure, sattvic foods. Unless medically necessary, follow a pure vegetarian diet, ideally from Organic, Non-GMO foods.
6. Positive Intentions
Focus on what you want to manifest, not what you perceive to be the problem or what you fear. Energy flows where attention goes.

The first Full Moon of the year, the Wolf Moon, is rising tonight, January 17th 🌙🐺✨ °°This lunation is asking us to face our deepest feelings and fears — and the spiritual meaning of the Wolf Moon is about stepping up as a fierce protector and nurturer in our own lives. It gives us an opportunity to show up for our inner selves and open our hearts to self-compassion, which is one of the most powerful of Cancer's traits. Owning our vulnerability makes us stronger, and this lunation highlights the importance of accepting, loving, and caring for ourselves.°°

Mom and Baby Yoga is back!! Wednesdays beginning Jan 5, 2022 11:00-12:30pm.
Mothers love the physical and emotional support this class offers. Gentle yoga poses are taught to help you strengthen, energize and tone while deepening your sense of well-being. The movements are individualized to your needs and designed to be safe for moms and babies, especially postpartum mamas whose bodies naturally need extra support as they recover from the stresses of pregnancy and childbirth. We focus on aiding specific areas such as neck, shoulders and lower back, as well as building strength for your abdominal area and pelvic floor.
Together we also offer each other emotional support and share parenting tips. Discussions are held on feeding your baby, newborn/infant care, infant/child development and postpartum recovery. We invite you to come to class when you feel ready. If you are breastfeeding, you can more comfortably do so surrounded by only women and babies during this hour.
For Moms and Babies (Newborn to Crawling) - In studio for vaccinated mothers (masks required per CDC).
