Tickets: $20 advance, $25 day of show
*Seating will be very limited. Text Tish for table reservations at 206-919-3794*
JNA brings us instant classics of the timeless techno-R&B genre. She gives you all the blissful beats and sonorous synths of born-in-the-70s gems from Chic, Prince’s protege’s, Donna Summer, and Diana Ross. JNA’s unique glow of powerfully-in-control vocals is all you’ve ever needed.
JNA worked with superstar producer Narada Walden to help compose “Stars Are On Our Side” and “Glitter Rain”. These two songs were composed and produced by Narada Walden and written by JNA. Narada has produced and worked with Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Elton John, Diana Ross, just to name a few. But as beautiful as the overall audio sheen is, there is real heart beneath the shimmering club sounds. If you close your eyes and listen to JNA, you might feel you’ve been transported back to the era of hypnotically blissful ‘70s numbers like “Love to Love You Baby,” “Funkytown,” and “Le Freak.”
With a live band and DJ accompaniment by Music Producer, Vitamin D, this is a show you do NOT want to miss!
*This is Mizz Tish Productions event*
Tomorrow evening’s show with Brian Gore and Itamar Erez has been cancelled. All ticket purchasers will receive an automatic refund.

Sunday, September 8th at 7pm don’t miss the next installment of Klezmer Stars Here!
The Klein Party and guests Zimyl Adler, Laurie Andres, Evan Davis, Kim Goldov, Nancy Hartunian, and Carl Shutoff perform and celebrate the music of klezmer clarinet great, Dave Tarras.
Born Dovid Tarraschuk in Ternivka (now in Ukraine), Tarras was a descendant of generations of Hasidic klezmorim.Drafted as a teenager, he played in Czarist army ensembles until the Revolution, when he emigrated to New York City where his clarinet was destroyed by fumigation at the hands of Ellis Island authorities. He went on to become the most influential klezmer musician of the century. Playing with the best of New York’s klezmer ensembles, he also became the preferred accompanist to popular Yiddish theater stars and great cantors. His wide range of over 500 recordings include klezmer, Yiddish swing, as well as Greek, Polish and Russian tunes.
Tarras played years longer than other klezmer greats of the era, incorporating many influences including jazz. Upon bestowing a 1984 National Heritage Fellowship, the National Endowment for the Arts recognized him for creating “a new klezmer sound that fused popular American music with recognizable European roots.” In the 1970s and 80s, Tarras was a key mentor for the klezmer revival movement.
Klezmer Starts Here! is a curated series at Seattle’s Royal Room presented by The Klein Party and the South Hudson Music Project focusing on different Yiddish music styles or practitioners. Each concert features guest artists and ensembles from within and from outside the tradition.

Next Tuesday, August 20th at 7:30pm, catch The Harlem Gospel Travelers at The Royal Room !
With their new album Rhapsody, the extraordinary vocalists Ifedayo Gatling, Dennis Bailey, and George Marage are able to fully explore the entire range of music that influenced them. The follow-up to their acclaimed 2021 release Look Up!, the record is a dive into a lesser-known but hugely important era in the evolution of gospel music.
Starting in the mid-1960s, local gospel groups and singers began incorporating elements of popular soul and funk styles and in 2006, Chicago-based reissue label Numero Group released Good God! A Gospel Funk Hymnal. HGT’s longtime friend and mentor Eli Paperboy Reed approached the group with the idea of digging through the Numero catalog and recording some of the gospel funk material, reinterpreted in their own way—from the high-energy, old-school soul of “God’s Been Good to Me” to the hip-hop-inflected “Get Involved.”
The Harlem Gospel Travelers story began when Gatling and Marage met while studying under Reed's tutelage. The group put out their debut LP, He’s On Time, to rave reviews in 2019, earning them high profile fans like Elton John and landing them festival slots everywhere from Pilgrimage to Telluride Jazz. Originally a quartet, they brought in Bailey and reconfigured as a trio prior to recording Look Up!, their first album of all original material.
At a moment when the world is reconsidering the concepts of genre and category and who’s allowed to participate in which traditions, HGT are squarely on the cultural pulse. “We always found it difficult to stay in this one lane of what people think gospel is supposed to be,” says Gatling. “This record allowed us to hear people that were innovators in their own time, pushing how gospel music sounded, and now we've created this project that is message-wise gospel, but the feeling and the sound can be whatever you want it to be.”

Liz Hopkins will be at the Royal Room Sunday, August 25th at 7pm!
Liz Hopkins has been singing all her life. The oldest of three with a tough-as-nails school principal single mom and a steady rotation of Motown, jazz, blues, musical theater and soul in her house while doing chores between play practice, dance class and choir rehearsal. During her high school years she joined forces and started harmonizing with Ian, Eric and Brittany Holljes, and after college those four merged with North Carolina rhythm section Mike McKee and Grant Emerson and all together they became Delta Rae. They are still harmonizing and creating exceptional music today.
When Liz is not on the road or in the studio with Delta Rae, she is teaching voice and piano fundamentals to kids and adults, practicing piano and popping up at jazz jams in Seattle. She finally wrote a few of her own songs, and released a debut solo EP: "Growing Brighter", in the spring of 2024. Followed by a live EP giving homage to her deep rooted love for jazz: Live at Bond Brothers East .
As one the lead vocalists in Delta Rae, Liz has been a touring musician for most of her adult life. Delta Rae has toured all over the U.S. + internationally, released seven full-length albums, played festivals including Bonnaroo, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Austin City Limits, FloydFest, and Lollapalooza, and overseas including HELLO Fest in Mexico, C2C in Scotland, Haldern Pop in Germany, Great Escape in England and Byron Bay Bluesfest in Australia . With Delta Rae, Liz has performed on national television (Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, Seth Meyers) and had the honor of meeting (and singing for) Michelle Obama at a DNC rally in Chapel Hill. Delta Rae has headlined their own tours for years and shared the stage with Melissa Etheridge, Jamey Johnson, Johnnyswim, Haim, Pat Benatar, Alanis Morissette, The Lumineers, Walk off the Earth, Train and more. After two rounds with labels, Delta Rae set out on their own and became the most funded independent band in the history of Kickstarter. It has been a wild ride and 15 years into rock-n-roll, Liz hasn't slowed down. She remains proud to be part of Delta Rae.
Her voice is powerful and soft, tender and raucous, and always perfect for the song she's singing. Her versatility is extraordinary: from crooning standards and jazz to beautifully delivering ballads and pop to belting out rock and country. She's at home on the stage.
This is her first show since relocating to Seattle, and so this is a west coast EP Release Party! Liz can't wait to Grow Brighter with all of you, this time on the left coast.

Sunday, September 29th at 7:30pm- Join us in celebration of Robin Holcomb’s 70th Birthday and CD Release!
Many artists have mined the vast repertoire of early American music, but few with such originality, poetic vision, and utterly unique harmonic language. Composer, pianist and vocalists Robin Holcomb’s music has been called “staggeringly beautiful.” by the New York Times. Through her times sharecropping to***co as a young woman, as an improvising pianist on New Yorks’ downtown scene in the 80s, and three decades of creating an utterly idiosycratic catalog of songs, Ms. Holcomb has created a singular canon as a composer. Her most recent composition, “Paradise”, was commissioned and performed by The Philadelphia Orchestra in October 2021.

Wednesday, August 7th at 7:30 don’t miss and at The Royal Room for a Back To School Benefit for the South Shore school!
To describe Star Anna’s sound would depend on the day, the show, the album, or the band. Alt country, folk, blues, soul, and Americana are all fitting, but what remains the central focus of every performance is her voice. Whether she’s sitting on a stage with only her acoustic guitar or backed by some of Seattle’s finest musicians, it’s her voice that defines her music. It is belted with a raw, grittiness that bellows from a deep, dark reserve. It is softly laid down atop gentle strings, aching and tender. It is spit out with a fierce recklessness that echoes the glory days of punk. She’s been compared to Joan Jett, John Prine, Fiona Apple and Joe Cocker but she is unmistakably her own entity.
Caspian Coberly is a Seattle-based guitarist, singer, and producer. His new album, ‘Texas Sex”, dropped November ’23, a vibey mix of grooves, r and b, and post punk.
He’s recently been collaborating with OG Delicious Vinyl & Beastie Boys producer Mario Caldato Jr. in Los Angeles and has been performing with Soundgarden and Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron, including their side project band, “Is This Real?”. Caspian was honored to perform with Matt Cameron and Soundgarden’s Hiro Yamamoto at the SMASH benefit at the Moore on Nov 18th. He has toured with buzzing New York bands Geese and Water From Your Eyes and has been working with Brooklyn-based company Seed Worldwide since 2022. His cosigns include Guns & Roses bassist Duff McKagan, Soundgarden & Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron, Beastie Boys & Beck producer Mario Caldato Jr., Frank Ocean producer Buddy Ross, Generation X guitarist Derwood Andrews, internet star LoveLeo, popular synthpop act Drab Majesty, among others. Caspian has been releasing songs from ‘Texas Sex’ on all platforms, November’23, including featured single ‘Find Me, Love Me’ and will be relasing new music in fall/winter 2024 from his upcoming album.
Back to school items will be collected at the door, and donated to Southshore school!
