Western Washington Female Hockey Association

WWFHA is a non-profit org dedicated to promoting girls’ ice hockey in the Pacific. We exist to give girls the opportunity to play on all-girl teams.

WWFHA is a non-profit (501-c3) association dedicated to empowering girls through the sport of ice hockey so they may reach their goals and dreams on and off the ice. WWFHA is a member of USA Hockey, Pacific Northwest Amateur Hockey association (PNAHA), Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association (PCAHA). We exist to give girls the opportunity to play on all-girl teams at the competitive or recreational level and to give female student-athletes the skills to be successful in their lives.

Marit Bloom - 19UC

“My advice to other players is a quote from my favorite musicians ever, the one and only Simon and Garfunkel “still a man heard what he wants to hear and disregards the rest” only in this case we’re woman! Basically don’t listen to people who say you’re too old to start, disregard them and follow your heart.” Says Marit who started playing hockey in their teens.

After three seasons with the Wild, Marit has committed to the University of Washington (School for Social Sciences) and hopes to play hockey again in the coming years.

A favorite memory that she shared was “ the team belting to music in the locker room”. Enjoy your college years & keep belting tunes Marit! We will all be singing with you!

Noufessa Yahyaoui - #9, 19UC Captain.
After 13yrs of youth Hockey (starting at age 5), Noufessa plans to participate in Club or Rec level Hockey while attending Wellesley College.

Hardwork, dedication and attention to detail came together proving to be a force on Defensive. A leader on and off the ice, Noufessa was always there to welcome new players and support her teammates.

Her advice for current and future players:
“Bloom wherever you’re planted (take advantage of whatever situation you are in)”
