In search of fall cocktail inspiration? 🍸 Our Apricot Bourbon Sour and El Presidente cocktails are perfect for warming up on a cold, blustery Seattle fall day.
The bourbon of the sour, mixed with fruity notes of the apricot reminds us that while winter is around the corner, we can still hang onto the lingering notes of summer.
As for the El Presidente, the rum mixed with citrus notes strikes the perfect balance between ‘classy’ and ‘sassy,’ making each sip a fall favorite.
We’re looking forward to serving these delicious drinks this fall season!

“I have to say, I am looking forward to bringing back the House Smoked Pastrami Sandwich. The sweet and spicy coleslaw adds a satisfying crunch and pairs perfectly with the pickled onions, swiss cheese, and pastrami that takes nearly a week to prepare. The time and patience are definitely worth it!
One of my new favorites is actually vegan: our Mushroom and Lentil “Steak.” It’s both hearty and flavorful, complemented by creamy cauliflower mornay, vibrant herb pistou, and crunchy vegetable crisps that add a touch of sweetness. I’m not a vegetarian, but I would eat this time and time again.”

Memorialized in print: Fall/Winter 2023
“For me, fall is all about comfort. It’s the season to turn the oven back on, light a fire, pour a glass of stout or Côtes du Rhône, and braise some meat.
But it’s not just about meat and potatoes. Harvest time offers a bounty of seasonal vegetables, like the hard squashes that sweeten beautifully when roasted, and the mushrooms that are so elusive at other times of the year.
What I love most about this season is that it feels like people are truly inspired by their favorite flavors, and that’s what really shines through in this menu.”
- DSquared’s Executive Chef, Nick Webber

Happy one-year anniversary today to Sage and Zach!
This August wedding at JM Cellars featured a sleek, modern aesthetic with a unique orange and white color palette and touches of mid-century modern motifs.
We adore the full commitment to the orange motif—with the bridal party in mixed dresses in a variety of orange floral and solid prints while the bride sported a sleek deep-v wedding dress and an all-orange bouquet! 🧡✨
1960s-esk orange and white floral napkins also added a pop of print to the reception tables.

Guess who's getting an ✨ exclusive ✨ catering menu! 👀
One of the things that we are most excited about for our new event venue, , is the opportunity to get even more creative with our catering capabilities!
While we can create *almost* anything in a pop-up field kitchen, having a venue directly connected to our large commercial kitchen means we have access to all of our freezer & fridge space, all of our deep fryers and other equipment, and plenty of space for our brilliant chef team!
Can anyone guess what kinds of chef stations we're cooking up? 😉
Email our sales team at [email protected] to get a first look at the new exclusive menu!
(Here are some chef stations we created with Lisa Dupar Catering last fall for inspiration ✨)

Knowing that her family would be dressed in bright Polynesian attire, Bryanda chose to keep the color scheme and decor of her wedding at JM Cellars simple and neutral – white, black, and greenery focused – so that the colorful guests would stand out! 🌺✨
Cultural highlights of the night included performances by Tahitian dancing and drumming organization Te Fare O Tamatoa’s dance troupe Te’a Rama – which included many members of the bride’s family – as well as a Tahitian blanket ceremony where the family wrapped the new couple in a “Tifaifai” (Tahitian quilt).
One of Bryanda’s favorite moments from the wedding is when she, along with her girl cousins, performed her own dance for her groom – a slow Tahitian dance called an “Aparima”, with her family singing and playing the accompanying music.
“My cousins and I had been talking about that since we were young and it is a memory I will cherish forever.” - Bryanda

Still drowning in the elegance of Stephanie & Tyler's late June wedding at JM Cellars 🌿
Our favorite part, of course, was the couple's creative menu. Their “Hers”, “His”, and “Ours” menu included all three of their favorite foods: sushi, tacos, and pizza!
🍕 “His” menu featured a buffet of “Roni Rolls”, Garlic Bread Knots, and Caesar Salad.
🍣 “Hers” was a sushi chef station by Chef Yuko of Hiroshi’s - included five rolls and four types of Nigiri Sushi.
🌮 The “Ours” Menu was a taco bar with three flavors and a plethora of toppings.
🍰 Then the couple sourced their cake, cake bombs, and macarons from the local small businesses of friends in their neighborhood.
Congratulations on your 2nd wedding anniversary last Sunday, Stephanie & Tyler!

Happy FIRST wedding anniversary to Madura & Reagan! 🌹❤️
Read below to see the thoughtful review the couple sent in after their wedding 🥰
“We absolutely loved working with Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes for our wedding! Our venue provided us with a preferred list of vendors, and of the vendors on the list, we felt they were the most responsive and willing to customize dinner service to meet our needs.
They also went above and beyond day of wedding, making sure Bride and Groom were fed and had the ability to taste everything on the menu.
Our guests all raved about the food and had multiple servings.
When our contact Emily, realized we didn’t get an opportunity to taste our desserts the night of (completely our own fault because we never left the dance floor), she arranged a sample of our desserts to enjoy after the wedding.
At one point I needed help pinning my dress and one of the servers jumped in to help - the whole service team exceeded our expectations and really confirmed we had absolutely made the right choice in going with them.
Just knowing that I could expect a high level of service and dependability was a HUGE relief on my wedding day. I highly recommend using Tuxedos and Tennis shoes for your next event!”

Kumiko & Tausif’s Ikebana-style flower arrangements created by Britlyn Simone Floral still have us swooning!
The Japanese floral designs, chosen to represent the bride’s Japanese background, also included hand-folded origami paper cranes.
The groom’s Bagladeshi background was reflected in the color palette of pinks and oranges to represent décor often worn by Bengladeshi brides.
The couple also paid homage to their current home in Hawaii with Hawaiian florals on their cake topper and Hawaiian cookie favors.
Happy 3-year anniversary today to Kumiko & Tausif!

! 🎉 Last night we brought all of our DSquared teams (from Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes Catering and Events at the Works, to Market Hall at T-Mobile, plus our teams at Benaroya Hall,The Hall at Fauntleroy and the Russell Investments Center) to share company updates, reflect on respectful workplace communication, and re-focus on our company's mission to gather and nourish people through memorable experiences.
🤝 We gathered inside our new event venue, 4105.
🍿 We nourished our team with pizza, popcorn, cookies, and ice cream.
👋 And we cemented the experience in our building's memory by hand-printing a new mural wall in our warehouse.
This year's all-hands team meeting was our biggest yet and we are so grateful to everyone who helped put it together!

We had the honor of catering the Seattle Opera's 60th Anniversary Concert and Gala earlier this month, and the experience was nothing short of magical.
Our team set up 36 tables directly on the McCaw Hall stage where guests and artists alike dined after a late afternoon concert celebrating the past six decades of the Seattle Opera’s world-class production of both classic and new works.
Esteemed Seattle chef, Tom Douglas, curated the night's menu and, with his daughter, Loretta Douglas, introduced each course of his northwest-inspired cuisine on the main stage while our team worked behind the scenes to prepare, plate, and serve the dishes to all 350 guests.
The first course featured a refreshing Chilled Yakima Asparagus with a Slaw of Savoy Cabbage, Carrot, Mint, Dill, Basil, Lime, and Toasted Shallot. Then, guests had the option of a Seared Alaskan Halibut with Eight Bell's Beurre Blanc and Charred Lemon; Braised Boneless Short Ribs with Shiitake Mushrooms, Celery Root, and Fried Rosemary; or a Vegan Coconut Rice Bowl with Lentil Meatballs, Shiitake, Roasted Carrots, Bok Choy, and Scallion Gravy for their entrée.
The guests ended the night with a Roasted Hazelnut Cake with Olive Oil, Blood Orange, and Theo Chocolate Ganache, a Tropical Curd & Coconut Cookie Stack with Whipped Cream, and Fresh Fruit, or a Vegan Cashew Custard in a Chocolate Cup with Fresh Berries.
Despite the program running 20 minutes behind schedule, our team was able to make up that time by completing our plate-up for 350 guests in just 18 minutes!
A huge congratulations to the Seattle Opera on exceeding their fundraising goal this year by $500,000, ultimately raising $2.8 million dollars to continue their mission of inspiring and educating Seattle through the shared experience of opera! We are so happy that our team was able to contribute to this incredible experience!

Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes, A DSquared Company
In 1986, two young restaurant-industry vets named David started a business based on a simple question: Could a catering company deliver consistently fantastic service and food as good as a fine restaurant?
The answer turned out to be an emphatic yes. Now, nearly three decades, thousands of events, and hundreds of loyal clients later, David Haggerty and David Meckstroth have grown that upstart catering business into DSquared, one of Seattle’s most respected culinary companies.
Catering is still at the heart of DSquared via Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes, the Davids’ original company. The DSquared portfolio also includes the premier events spaces Melrose Market Studios and The Hall at Fauntleroy, as well as two restaurants: Davids & Co., a “nouveau barbecue” café in downtown Seattle’s Benaroya Hall, and the fine-dining venue Muse, the official restaurant of the Seattle Symphony.
