Birthday flowers for our next door neighbor who can’t let a single gesture go unreturned by tenfold (like, I give a bloom, she gives a loaf of banana bread), who looks out for our family and neighborhood, who lends us ketchup and ice cubes and whatever else we’re short on, and who even has a fairy godmother name. Melinda, we love you!
I call her “Lovely” because she is.
Flower lovers, don’t forget that 10% of all sales between 5/31 - 6/3 will be donated to — an organization dedicated to preventing gun violence. (Link to webshop in profile.) is joining me in this effort, along with some other exciting partners I’ll mention in posts to come.
Have a safe and restorative weekend. 💕
For an artist, mother, human, friend, sister, daughter, leader, lover. An incomplete list. My heart feels the weight and sends out love to all who feel that, too.
This morning I got to decorate a four-poster bed for a maternity shoot. First time I’ve done that in 19 years of flowering. Here’s the piece I designed for the side table. Check out stories for the full installation!
Give it your all! Feel it all. I wish you a very good weekend!
Dots and fuzz and fringe and spots: yes, I do love texture. 💕
I like you for standing out. 💕
A little tropical moment. Or was it a begonia moment? Multiple realities in one vase. 💫
Had to go with pinks this week for my subscription customer’s mantel arrangement. But can you really even call all those colors just PINK? I see peach, coral, dusty rose, and.... pink. 💕
Orchids are back! With the B.C.-grown orchids on crop again, I can stick to my “buy-local” plan. No more passing by the New Zealand offerings with a wistful pang. I’ve got these local beauties to enjoy! 🌎💙 Best of the Season - Medium shown here, available for delivery on the webshop. Link in profile.
Introducing “Spice Drop” - the newest addition to the webshop! With a roundy-moundy shape and shimmering glimpses of holiday ornaments peeking out between blooms, it just makes me happy to behold. Doesn't the silver striping on the vase make you think of ribbons on packages? Delivery available through Seattle (and slightly beyond). Webshop link in profile. 🎁
A new holiday design just landed on the webshop: “Sleigh Ride” is longer and narrower, perfectly proportioned to glide right onto your holiday table. Cheers! 🛷
Three interlocking rings to celebrate and symbolize one family’s milestones: a one-year wedding anniversary and their daughter’s first birthday. This non-wreath-wreath dressed up the front door for a family celebration. 💓 Having done the flowers for the couple’s wedding, this order was especially gratifying!
Someday I’ll have to try one of those mushroom lattes I keep hearing about. Last weekend I had the most amazing chocolate-pear-hazelnut-caramel wedding dessert. These are not non sequiturs. These colors bring me right to food....
Another installment in the weekly series. I love that flowers have so many different moods. Just like us.
Found that pot of peach-gold in a Best of the Season (medium) this week. 🍑 🍊 🍯

Nice to take a break from the land of rust and burgundy for a moment... Crisp blues with warm magnolia and curly willow accents for my long-standing weekly customer, who orders an arrangement for her mantel each Thursday. Her dedication to appreciating beauty and nature inspires me!
As I made these floral letters for a corporate event, I kept running through all the other things that BCG could stand for.... Big Cookie Grab, Be Cool Grandma, Bring Crispy Grahams.... What comes to your mind? Entertain me with your wit on this grey day in Seattle!

I’m a fickle flower fan, moving right into Mum Appreciation Mode now that dahlias are done. This new design on the webshop - “Mum Jamboree” - celebrates locally grown mums in all their variety and splendor. And I know some folks out there will especially appreciate how long-lasting these blooms are! 🍁 Link to webshop in profile. 🍂
Reach, dill, reach!! 🧡
Reach, dill, reach!! 🧡
A supersized “Sungold” bringing me (and hopefully the recipient!!) a little glow today. All flowers + foliages grown here in WA and OR. (**Okay, except the stock, grown in CA.)
Can you believe I only bought one bunch of Cafe Au Lait dahlias all season?? I hardly can... No one better to receive them than . Happy anniversary, L & S! 💓❤️💓
A sweet set of “Alma” heading out the door today. Only a couple more weeks of dahlias until the frost and rain shut them down!
Can you tell I like talking about flowers? Right before things shut down in spring 2020, I had the honor of doing a design demo at the . I had noticed a trend towards rounder, less wild bridal bouquets - and so the market surrounded me with glorious floral goodness to make my point - all of it domestic, most of it local. Swipe to see the finished product, beautifully captured by .palacol .
I’d love to talk about flowers with you! Message me if you’re interested in a private class. I do that, too!
Me to me: So it rains and suddenly you go alllllll the way into fall??
Me back to me: Yes.
