It's Detroit artist Rick Jacobi's rendition of Eshu, perhaps the most complex Trickster god of them all, from the Yoruba society of West Africa. Eshu’s known in the Southern US and Caribbean as Papa Legba, or variations thereof. So I noticed today that the mounting somehow slipped. Anyway, I had to have a big laugh. Trickster plays tricks on me, and this was a good one, it being January 17, International Trickster Day!
