Would you like an entry point into the legal industry or Seattle area job market while we train you? Do you want the flexibility to come into the office to be with colleagues or work from home? Do you like helping and serving as part of a team?
Our law firm fights to restore dignity in the workplace by representing employees of big businesses, and the management of small businesses and nonprofit organizations.
As the legal assistant, you will (1) answer calls from potential new clients, current clients, and the public, (2) file (online) papers with the court, (3) proofread and edit, (4) store records in our system, and (5) keep deadlines and appointments on our calendar. Additionally, you will learn the legal industry, how courts work, a ton of legal vocabulary, and serve the lawyers and clients in a support role.
We will train you on how we do it, so we are looking for the right person with the right strengths. A college education may demonstrate some writing skills we are looking for, including grammar, syntax, and a robust knowledge of Office suite applications. The firm is growing, and we need someone to help serve callers and keep us organized.
The firm members often work remotely at this time, so we have online training and frequent video communication to help you succeed. If you work remotely, it is important that you have a quiet place to take calls from clients and the public. Background check required.

When representing management, we encourage humanitarian employment policies and contracts to bring out the best in workers, and we defend litigation knowing meritless claims hurt everyone. We also litigate business-to-business disputes (i.e. commercial litigation), especially breach of contract and unfair competition. When representing employees, we advise on whether a noncompete agreement is valid or whether to accept a severance agreement, and we litigate the select claims of unlawful employment decisions. We represent management of small businesses and nonprofit organizations, and employees of big businesses. So, paralegals who view the world in hyper-partisan terms are not a good fit.
