If you know me & my brothers, you know we’ve spent time growing up in the south. Still have family down that way. Along with cousin, , we all have a love for comfort foods. This is our fun play on that.

We will be pivoting our kitchen to a hawker station-style concept.

There will be two options: vegan & traditional.

In honor of staying true to we’re gonna call it Cuhhh Thieuw. 😂

Most importantly, thank you to all the Covid gofundme supporters that helped us stay afloat while we pivoted to the Cambodian menu. With you, we wouldn’t be here.

I know it’s taken some time (a lot has to do with my plate always being full & taking on tasks alone - so I apologize, sincerely) - but now that we’ve gotten our bearings in order, I will be working closely with my team of managers (I have managers now!!!) We will begin the organization side of initiating all of the rewards that you have been so gracious in waiting for. Expect to hear from us soon!

Mom. This photo is circa April of 1983 - 6 months after she brought me (her first born) into the world. I could never fully understand how scared she was having fled the Khmer Rouge just years earlier and arriving in a foreign country as a refugee.

With this space, I hope to honor her along with so many matriarchs & refugees from across all communities. I never got to meet or know my great grandmother, but from all the stories I’ve ever heard about from our mom, the two of them were inseparable back in Cambodia before the civil war. Being the eldest amongst her siblings, mom took in every recipe that her Yeay (grandmother) taught her.

With this space, I hope that I will be able to honor what my great grandmother has passed onto our mom while also adding a little hint of our family’s diaspora. My brothers & I wouldn’t be here without our mom, Sophon. So with Sophon, we want her to know that although she may not have felt that there was a space for her when she first arrived to the US, there is now a space completely dedicated to her and everyone like her. Thank you, mom! 🙏🏾🇰🇭❤️

It’s really infuriating. 6 months ago, someone trashed one of our hanging plants on our patio. We chalked it up to bad luck. However, we just saw this today. So it’s starting to feel like we’re being targeted.

I really hope it isn’t someone in the community. If it’s someone dealing with mental health issues, it’s more than understanding as we’re all human. However, if you’re just a bully, I feel really bad that you want to exert the extra energy it takes to do something like this. Being kind takes zero energy. Hell, if you’re seeing this, let’s sit down and talk about what your issues are with us or our innocent planters.

So community, fam & neighbors, keep your eyes peeled.

Panorama Point Loop @ Baker Lake Campground

We will be taking a much needed staff camping retreat starting tomorrow thru Tuesday. As this trip falls on the days we are closed, we will be closed Tuesday to allow our family of staff to come home & relax.

We will see you on Wednesday, 06/28 @ 5pm.

With that, a final note, our kitchen will be closing at 10p tonight and the bar at 12a to allow our staff a little extra wiggle room to prepare their camp gear & such.

To the man that never gave up his love for music after surviving the Khmer Rouge executing artists, scholars & educators, thank you, pa!

Your love, drive & passion for music was the reason I pursued it at an early age whether it was singing in local gospel choirs with my friends in Long Beach to teaching myself piano until the director took me under their wing which led to my love for learning & playing jazz, gospel & soul.

You may have wanted a different path for me as you’ve seen the highs & lows as a musician. However, one thing that you instilled in us was to fight for what you love. It was evident in how you never let your flame for music die even when your very own life was threatened.

Through all the times that I was great son & a horrible son, I hope that I’ve made you proud, because without who you fought to remain after all of the trauma, I would’ve never become who I am today.
Love you & mom to the end of the universe & back!

Happy Father’s Day to you & all the father’s that are trying their best and to all the womxn that continue doing all they can in raising a child/children without their fathers in the picture.
