Inspired by the teachings of Jesus, Agros breaks the cycle of poverty & creates paths to prosperity
Families who have traveled their path to prosperity with hard work and courage, now pass on the blessing as mentors for new families of Agros.
"God keeps planting seeds in the ground that go on sprouting. We are those seed. And I have experienced that God´s hand is on this organization" Concepción Méndez, a vegetable producer at San José Village.
"You have to fight in order to receive the blessings God has for you. Our children are going to have their land, where they can build their homes. This is their inheritance" Lucia Ramos, works hand by hand with his husband Concepción at their own land.

What does opportunity look like?
Market-led agriculture—one of Agros’ four core opportunity areas for breaking the cycle of poverty—isn’t about selling what you farm. It’s about farming what will sell. One example of applying this practical philosophy to day-to-day farming is when Agros technicians got together with the residents of several of our villages and helped farmers plan for and build the infrastructure for a whole new crop: tilapia. Now farmers like Enrique in this photo are regularly having successful tilapia harvests. That’s an opportunity worth a smile as big as Enrique’s!
The other Agros opportunity areas are land ownership, financial empowerment, and health & well-being. These program areas overlap to create a holistic, effective approach to ending the cycle of generational poverty for farming families in rural Latin America. You can read more about all our opportunity areas in the Company Overview.
