⏰The mansion is formally known as Collisnwood when the Collin’s family built the home in 1932 as a summer home and hunting lodge.

🏠Virginia and Prentice Bloedel purchased in 1951 and lived at the state for 33 years.

🍃 Mr. Bloedel was deeply interested in the relationship between people and the natural world, and the power of landscape to evoke emotion.

🌸Mr. Bloedel was color blind, so per his request, there are very few flowers on the whole reserve.

👐The Bloedels gave away the reserve as a non-profit charity, and it opened to the public in 1988.
