Teaera has been coming to RHF once a week for the past 4 months as part of our partnership with the Seattle Department of Services for the Blind. Last week was her final class (as she is graduating from that program!) and we wanted to give her a quick shout out for all the hard work and progress she has made during our workouts. Each week we've been focusing on teaching the students functional movements that they can do on their own, at home or at the gym in their apartments. We've been doing lots of squats, push ups, planks, deadlifts, etc! Teaera was able to do 20 pushups last week, after not being able to complete 1 pushup during her first week here! She also progressively learned how to safely lift weight off the ground and last week completed 10 reps of a 35lb barbell deadlift! During her last class she learned how to do ring rows which quickly became a favorite. Teaera has also been determined to use the stairclimber machine in order to improve her confidence with climbing stairs, and she's gradually been able to overcome her fear of it, and also complete longer amounts of time on it each week! It's been such a pleasure to work with Teaera and the other students from the Department of Services for the Blind, and we are excited to meet the next group of new students next month.

We love the energy these students showed at the Graham Hill Elementary Heritage night.

Getting instructions for the relay race from Coach Marla and Jessica.
