"National DMV Appreciation Month recognizes DMV and Driver License Partners (DLPs) as vital partners in saving and healing lives. DMV staff ask the donor registration question to customers every day.
Partnerships with DMVs remain the primary source of state donor registrations. DMV and Driver License Partner staff are the people on the front lines of service who have helped people across the country to register their decision to be an organ, eye and tissue donor. There are currently more than 170 million donor registrations in the U.S.! "

Kim Gilmore, senior public education coordinator at LifeQuest Organ Recovery Services will serve as vice-chair of Donate Life Florida for the 2024-26 term. She has been involved in the donation community for more than seven years. Kim chaired the Donate Life Florida Driver License Task Force and serves on DLF’s Driver License Outreach Committee and the DLF Appropriations Committee. She is directly responsible for securing a pro-bono relationship with lobbyists to secure funding from the Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) to manage the DLF donor registry and design educational programs. Kim manages outreach initiatives in ten counties for LifeQuest Organ Recovery Services and leads their Multicultural Action Committee (MCAC). She brings a strong background in education and journalism, including designing STEM curriculum and developing high-level mentorships with Florida State University. She was editor at PGATOUR.com and a reporter at the Tampa Bay Times, where she served as liaison to 17 area schools. Kim is passionate about creating compelling content through storytelling that results in memorable experiences for donor families and recipients.
“I look forward to learning and growing in my role as Donate Life Florida vice chair and to collaborating with multiple agencies in support of shared goals,” Kim said. “Success is built on establishing community relationships that result in partnerships and repeat opportunities.”

Patricia Darrigan, Senior Director of Professional Development and Communications at Legacy Donor Services Foundation has been appointed Chair for the 2024-26 term by Donate Life Florida (DLF). Patricia has been involved in the donation community for over 30 years and was an original member of Donate Life Florida when it was established in 1997. She played a vital role in establishing communication channels with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) and Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) to improve the management of the statewide donor registry. In the past four years, she served as DLF's Driver's License Outreach Team Lead and Vice Chair. Patricia is honored and humbled to be elected as Donate Life Florida's Chair and will focus on building relationships with the Florida Senate and House of Representatives, as well as partnering with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to encourage Floridians to register as organ, eye, and tissue donors. 💙💚

James Rosa, Regional Program manager at Lions World Vision Institute has been involved in the donation field for over 17 years. James proudly served as DLF Chair for the 2022-’24 term, overseeing different projects and donation efforts, and is excited to continue assisting with current and future efforts. The most important aspect for James is being part of DLF’s unity from all donor programs through collaboration on the shared mission of donation and transplantation.
