Remember, going to a shelter should be a last resort, you will be much more comfortable at a friend or family member's house.

We are seeing the track continue to go north of our areas, but again, we have the potential to see high winds and flooding. Please be prepared and stay informed.

🌀 New 5 PM cone is in for with the potential for at least a Category 2 to make landfall in Florida Tuesday into Wednesday. Hurricane Watch is now in effect (Red) from Englewood to the Big Bend, including Tampa Bay. Tropical Storm Watch and Storm Surge Watch both in effect for Southwest Florida with a preliminary projection of locally 2 - 4 feet of surge. I'll have more updates in the hours ahead. IDALIA | The cone represents where the center of the storm goes two-thirds of the time. There is still some margin for error in this forecast. It's best to prepare for a category 3 hurricane just in case there is a last minute shift in the track, like we've seen with previous storms. But bottom line, if the track verifies, the worst wind stays offshore!

Heartland Rural Health will be attending the Family Health and Fitness Day at Pioneer Park this Saturday from 9am to 1pm.

Heartland Rural serves as a link between the health care provider and patient to improve quality of health care as well as access to healthcare for underserved and marginalized individuals.

They also provide Social Security and Disability assistance, social support, health education, advocacy services, assistance with helping the patient understand the provider, as well as helping the provider understand the needs of the patient.

Hardee County Parks and Recreation takes pride in providing health and wellness resources for the community, and we hope you’ll come out and discover the many diverse opportunities we offer to ensure the health and well-being of everyone.
