🇺🇸 FLAG DAY 🇺🇸
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
May we never forget the immense courage and sacrifices
80 years ago, as light began to dawn over 6 June, 1944 in France, the D-Day Invasion was already fully in motion. As 6 June, 2024 rises over France, our greatest wish is that we honor those who took part in the "Days of Days" with dignity, respect and reverence.
SUPREME HEADQUARTERS
ALLIED EXPEDITIONARY FORCE
"Soldiers, Sailors, and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force!
You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hope and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on other Fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of N**i tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.
Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle-hardened. He will fight savagely.
But this is the year 1944! Much has happened since the N**i triumphs of 1940-41. The United Nations have inflicted upon the Germans great defeats, in open battle, man-to-man. Our air offensive has seriously reduced their strength in the air and their capacity to wage war on the ground. Our Home Fronts have given us an overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men. The tide has turned! The free men of the world are marching together to Victory!
I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full Victory!
Good luck! And let us beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking." ~ General Dwight D Eisenhower

Tribute to a Legend
The passing of a legend is always some kind of a mystery to which we ask the question Why? We think that legends are immortal.
Mourning the death of legends is not exactly like mourning the passing of a family member or a beloved friend. The latter creates a huge void in the lives of the family or the circle of friends, but Bud was our friend and in a very special way a part of our Warbird family.
On your next visit to the Tennessee Museum of Aviation, be sure to check out our newest exhibit. Jerry Hone has loaned the museum his recently built Rocket Cycle. This project was a 6-month build, using 486 rivets. Jerry definitely has an innate talent with a vision. His inspiration came from a 14-ft aircraft drop tank.
