Opioid Treatment Program Coastal Horizons offers Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorders including Methadone and Buprenorphine in Wilmington and Shallotte and Based Buprenorphine in Wilmington, Burgaw, and Shallotte.

We are so proud of Coastal Horizons’ own Kristina Clemmons for being selected as a finalist in awards in the health category. According to Kristina, “Mental health for children in this county [Brunswick] was lacking when I first began my career, and I heard from many people that it would never take off and be successful. Being part of opening a new facility where our school clients and just children and adolescents in the community can come to access help has been the most fulfilling part of my journey in mental health so far. ... In the words of our President & CEO, Margaret Stargell, we have a very talented team at Coastal Horizons Center! We have yet another member of our staff who has been nominated as a YWCA Lower Cape Fear Woman of Achievement: Kristina Taylor Clemmons. Kristina is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist who has been serving Brunswick County for the past 10 years. Kristina oversees our children & school-based services in Brunswick and Columbus counties, and has been the Assistant Director of our Brunswick County office since 2018. We are so proud of you, Kristina! The honor is well-deserved!

At Coastal Horizons, we honor our nation's veterans. Any veteran can receive services, have prescription co-pays covered, and transportation costs paid from our Save A Vet Now Fund. Twenty veterans commit su***de each day. Following the Brunswick County Government Offices, our office will not be open until noon tomorrow.

Today we celebrate the The Brunswick County office of Coastal Horizons' 10th Anniversary at 120 Coastal Horizons Dr, Shallotte. We are very proud and thankful for our decade of hard work and accomplishments by many staff and partners and for our clients.
After a short time in a temporary office in Supply, Coastal Horizons opened its permanent location 10 years ago in Shallotte. Since its opening, Coastal Horizons expanded the site to meet the growing need for additional services and clinical staff by remodeling our facility to add additional offices and additional staff. Currently our building hosts over 25 clinicians, providers, and staff members. We also work with kids and families in our community and our Brunswick County Scools.
Our office now offers a 20 hour per week program and a 9 hour per week program for Substance Use Disorders as well as outpatient counseling and medication management for mental health and substance use disorder. The Brunswick office serves over 1000 Brunswick County residents per year!
Since we began 10 years ago we have also expanded into:
• Office Based Medication Assisted Treatment
• Partnering with Brunswick County Treatment Courts
• Free testing for HIV and Hep-C and a needle exchange program.
• Peer support services
• Partnerships with DSS, Probation, DHHS, and many other valued community partners
• Active participation in the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council including an Anger Reduction Program
• Facility Host for a Families Anonymous Group

Congrats to our Brunswick team on 10 years, we can’t wait to see what the next 10 hold 💙 🧡

During this challenging time & always, our staff at Coastal Horizons Brunswick are always thinking of new ways to help our clients & community. We have recently added a “give & take” box available at our front door. We hope to have donations of clothing, canned foods, or other items of need available to whoever may need them. A HUGE shoutout to The Home Depot for their generous donation of this box in support of the cause. We are so thankful for your support and donation! 💙🧡💙

Children ages birth to 18 are invited to participate in Coastal Horizons' online Children’s Art Auction. This fundraiser is unique: it is by children, for children. It gives them a sense of purpose, pride, and a way to make a difference in the lives of other children during the Covid-19 crisis. Proceeds from the Children’s Art Auction will benefit Coastal Horizons’ programs that are improving the lives of children.
